Alright. I dont have any scans so if someone could help me out here it would be appreciated. I think the Praetor deserves alot more respect than he gets. He gets like no respect just because of that PIS of getting knocked down by Cannonball. So id anyone could help me out wit some cool pics such as these it would be appreciated:

Gladiator and Co. vs. Tyrant
Some good Glads stuff here. Including Glads matching energy with Tyrant (who has Galaxy destroying eyebeams), taking the Eyebeam attack that Tyrant uses to take out Surfer and surviving through it (of course Surfer had taken more damage overall than Glads did). All the while never losing confidence in the least.

I'll be posting the entirety of both those fights soon-ish. But yeah, Glads loses the second fight. Although, Thor doesn't win it as cleanly as people seem to think. And the first fight shows, if Glads uses his speed, then Thor really doesn't have much of a chance.

Thor won via again cheating (while Gladiator is not even paying attention)

It was clearly shown that Gladiator was too fast for him until thor decided to attack while Gladiator was standing there like a moron (thinking he has won)

but i'll admit something to you that i never admitted to kg -- it's not glads fault, he's written terribly, has no where CLOSE to the appearances and feats that supes has and has a superb jobber aura. glads MIGHT be cool if a good writer got hold of him, gave him a series and brought him from the minors to the majors by having him actually WIN a meaningful fight against one of marvel's big boys. be nice to actually see him WIN a good fight, rather than have to hear kg come up with every excuse in the book for why he lost.

He did beat thor , Hyperion , FF what do you except from a guy who is hardly shown.

but don't tell kg i said that . . . lol... Yeah, i'd agree with that statement. Unfortunately, a Gladiator mini is just something i can't see happening. Which is a pity, cause he's got a lot of potential. We know nothing at all about his origin. And he's supposed to be millions and millions of years old, so there's lots to be told.

Not the point Thor attacked Gladiator when Gladiator wasn't even looking notice how Gladiator was smiling then all the sudden he get's attacked.

Cleary Thor couldn't keep up with Gladiators speed.

Infact Gladiator (a weaken one) stalemated "Jake" Thor while Thor's speed was amped

Gladiator forgets about his speed when battling with thor ( well for the most part)

If i recall, Reed was using tech to boost everyone's speed to the point where everything else didn't appear to be moving at all. But Gladiator was moving at that speed under his own power, which is why it's believed that if Thor didn't have the tech boosting his speed, he'd be beaten.

That's just what i've read on the net though. As i don't have the comic i don't know if that's what actually happened...

Notice all the heroes speed were amped.

Gladiator even says none can see them but I can.

There's actually three fights in this. Gladiator first takes on and defeats Thor, then has to fight Tarene, defeats her and then has to fight Thor again where he finally loses.

Part 1
This fight shows that if Gladiator actually uses his speed, Thor doesn't really stand that much of a chance.

Yeah, in Glads fight with Tarene he uses it to take her out. I'll probably post that up later tonight or tomorrow. I haven't seen anything to suggest that Glads freeze breath is stronger than Supes or vice versa. They're around the same the level i'd say.

Gladiator vs. Thor

Part 2 - Gladiator vs. Tarene
After knocking Thor flying across the whole city for a full 60 seconds, Gladiator comes to finish him off but has to fight off Tarene. Glads wins this fight pretty easily, but Tarene does do some damage. Once again, when Glads utilizes his speed Tarene doesn't stand a chance. During this fight some chick (i think it's enchantress or someone) is taking Jake to his hammer so he can turn back into Thor...

Glads catches up to Thor just as he's transforming and the final fight is on. Thor gets him with a good blast and then they're interrupted by the plane. Anyway, after they get the plane down Thor takes Glads by surprise with a blast. Then hits him with a the hammer a few times and then Tarene comes in and hits him with "Such power rivals e'en that of omnipotent Odin!".

So, yes, Thor gets the victory. But it's not the clean and easy victory that people try to paint. Gladiator does say that Thor was too strong for him later on, but if anything, these scans show, IMO, that if Glads utilizes his full range of abilities (especially his speed) then he outclasses Thor. And Thor wouldn't have won without outside interference.

Gladiator vs. Ego and Silver Surfer
I think this comic has been ruled as NOT being canon, so these fights never took place. Some people claim that it is canon because it makes referance to other canon events, though the general consensus is that it's not. Nevertheless they're some cool scans and show Glads as the beast he is, so i'm posting them. But they are not canon.

Gladiator vs. Silver Surfer
IMO, this is a good comparing of the two. Showing them as equals. Obviously Surfer has the advantage in versatility that would lead him to beat Glads more often than not. But it shows that Glads is capable of pulling out quite a few wins against Surfer himself.

He contains the blast, yet it still sends him flying away at 100c? Doesn't sound right. And he's completely fine when he gets to earth.

so he's outclassed doctor strange by a good 9c... hearing the alarm from light years away makes absolutely no sense, though, unless his powers are more psionic than imagined.

Gladiator vs. The Fantastic Four
After surviving and containing a supernova and flying at 100c to earth, Glads puts a bigger whooping on the FF than Ult. Namor did. (in fact, now that i think about it the fights are very similar).

Feats
- Sending Thing flying through 8 cars with a punch (Thing doesn't think he's ever been hit that hard). Then tossing him into the Baxter Building knocking him out.
- Lifting all 35 stories of the Baxter Building. His psionic abilities also keep it from crumbling in on itself.
- Laughs at the Human Torchs full powered Nova Blast, then blows him out like a candle.
- Stretching Reed to his limit, defeating him.
- Pounding his way through Sues force fields.
- Defeats Thing a second time by smashing a bus down on him.

Gladiator vs. The Fantastic Four & Uni-Powered Invisible Woman
Gladiators rematch with the Fantastic Four. But this time he has to deal with a Uni-Powered Invisble Woman aswell. Apart from a few stupid things, this is a cool fight. Uni-Powered Sue is an absolute beast, but Kallark is able to hold his own against her for quite awhile and never gives up, nor does he lose confidence.

Obviously the stupid thing i'm talking about is Kallark not being able to make it to the tidal wave on time, and even when he bonds with the Uni-Power, it still takes 2 minutes. It's complete PIS, especially considering that Glads just came from the Sh'iar galaxy under his own power, and we actually see him travel to the Baxter Building from further than the moon in the time of a few spoken sentences.

Anyway, Thing and Johnny are still no match for Glads. Kalark is actually written pretty well this issue (besides the speed thing). He isn't written as a fanatical jerk like alot of people write him, just as a guy who's doing his best to protect the Shi'ar empire.

I really think he's an untapped source for great stories. All we know about the guy is that he's of the Strontian race, supposedly millions of years old, and is even supposed to have been a Herald of Galactus at one point. Finding out his backstory and his rise to fame in the Shi'ar empire would makje for great reading.

Gladiator vs. Supreme
Kallark finds himself fighting another Supes clone, and a very powerful one at that. So, does Glads lose all confidence when Supreme isn't beat after one hit? No. Does he lose confidence after Supreme beats on him for a fair while? No. Yet people still seem to say that once someone doesn't fall after one hit from Glads, he'll just lose all confidence. That doesn't happen.

At first, Supreme has a clear advantage. Mainly because Supreme is bloodlusted, and Gladiator's too busy trying to save people to concentrate on the fight. Once the fight really gets started, it's more equal. When Supreme reveals that he willing to destroy the planet to win, Kallark takes the fight into space. In space Glads clearly has the advantage.

When Kallark realises that the fight will probably destroy worlds and go on for far too long, he decides to end the conflict using his smarts. Supreme is fooled, and Shi'ar casualties are avoided.

(also note on page 4, Gladiator is said to be adapting to Supreme's psionic probe)

Gladiator's never been beaten due to losing confidence, by an opponent that's as strong, or stronger. People always say something like "Once Glads sees that his first hit doesn't put Superman down, he'll lose confidence and get his ass kicked.". People say that, even though the guys gone up against Tyrant, thrown everything he has at him and still not lost confidence. It's just being ignorant.

As for the times he has been beaten becasue of his confidence, there's only once it's happened that i can think of. Against the Fantastic Four. Against Cannonball, he wasn't beaten in the least. Against Gambit, he was being mindcontrolled. Against Hulk, it was like Superman fighting next to a mountain of Kryptonite, with a whole lot of PIS involved.

Caddandra Nova beat him making him loose his confidence.

Cannonball did beat Gladiator. Read his bio in the X-men handbook it says it right there.

He did waver his confidence and get a very good hit, but Glads is back up on the next page. Does he look beaten? No. Glads even referrs to Sam as a child, and refuses to send him off with the X-Men because he sees him as a child. Glads was messing around with him the whole fight. Then when he got serious, Sam took him by surprise, then the fight ended. He was never beaten.

In fact, i'm gonna post scans of the fight to show people that Glads was not beaten.

his confidence was, essentially, dropped to nothing. but that was just a combination of him underestimating sam, and sam being lucky enough to have that nifty force field.

seems like gladiator's weaker than the armageddon man, though, considering AM brushed sam aside and bruised a few ribs, but a full-hit from glads didn't do much of anything. hooray for the terrans.

Not true. The only reason Glads full powered blow didn't work was because Sam tranferred all the kinetic energy from the punch into the force field so it never really hit him. A trick he's only done once, and that was it.

Gladiator vs. Cannonball
So here it is, the famous fight where Cannonball beat Gladiator. But, that's not really what happened is it. I mean, according to people who don't actually pay attention to what they're reading, it might've happened, but to the people who actually read it, they'd know that the fight doesn't end conclusively. So now i'm gonna de-construct it so people know that no one wins.

So let's start off. The first page where Glads appears, i don't have scanned. But all that happens is Glads teleports in and knocks Sam and a girl he was rescuing into a wall.

So, scan 1- Gladiator doesn't want to fight, he's just looking for the X-Men.
Scan 2- Cannonball starts the fight without hearing Gladiator out.
Scan 3- Cannonball moves the fight outside (but makes a strange detour through another building o.0). Gladiator stops them in mid-blast, which according to Sam isn't possible. Notice the smug grin on Kallark's face, i don't think he's taking this seriously.
Scan 4- Sam is pushing as hard as he can against Kallark, but it's not working. Notice Kallark is still smirking and sais, "Surrender now before you hurt yourself". Still not wanting to fight, or taking Sam seriously. So Sam outsmarts him and uses momentum.
Scan 5- Kallark whacks Sam and Sam feels it through his force field. Then Kallark completely out speeds Sam. Notice all Kallark does is try to subdue Sam with the metal, obviously still not wanting to fight.
Scan 6- Sam breaks out of the metal, and Kallark has finally had it, gets serious and sais he going to punch Sam into the sun.
Scan 7- Sam comes up with something he's never done before and never done since (which is a pity). Kallark's blow has no effect, and Kallark is of course very shaken.
Scan 8- Sam takes advantage of the moment and sends Kallark flying into construction below. (there's a theory that Sam essentially hit Kallark with his own blow when this happens. Because all the power form Kallark's blow is transferred into Sam's force field, and when Sam hits Kallark it's released back against Kallark. This hasn't been confirmed though so it is just a theory.)
Scan 9- The rest of the X-Men arrive and it's explained how Sam managed what he did. And then, Kallark is back up only one page after he is supposedly beaten. Not only is he up, he sends metal girders flying everywhere. Hmm, doesn't really seem like someone who's just been beaten.
Scan 10- Kallark tells the X-Men why he's here. Doesn't look beaten to me. Actually looks like the fight's been interrupted therefore there is no victor.
Scan 11- Kallark teleports the X-Men away, but refuses to send Sam because he considers Sam to be a child. SO still, doesn't take him that seriously. Also doesn't look at all beaten on this page.

So, if you listen to logic, you see that Sam did not beat Kallark and the fight was interrupted before there could be a clear victor. You'd also see that Kallark was not serious until that last part where he's taken by surprise.

Personally, this is a favorite issue of mine. Sam is finally written as confident and using his abilities in new ways and it's a pity it didn't stick. The art is great, and Kallark is written well. Heck even Marvel says it.

Oh well. I think even i thought that he'd lost when i first read it. It tends to happen alot in fights like that. They don't really end conclusively, but whoever gets the last, or best hit in is viewed as the winner. But i'd wager Scott Lobdell would say that neither person lost the fight.

damnit. and here i thought at least one earthstuff could contend with glads...

even without his confidence, gladiator's really effin' strong. his confidence merely reinforces his powers, as said in the scans above, so he likely would still be capable of any of his feats even without his confidence. of course, they'd be to a lesser degree, but he isn't able to exhibit new powers just because he's confident he can. super-strength's natural, durability, endurance, flight, living in space...

still, if it had gone on, i think sam would've taken it. if super-glads can't do anything but wind him, i don't see a weakened gladiator beating him. but that's just extrapolation on my part...

In the Gladiator thread there is scans of him getting beat by Cannonball and Thor.

In the Thing thread there is cans of him getting his @ss whooped by Juggernaut and Gladiator.

Imperial Guard mini
Some scans from the Imperial Guard mini series from awhile back. This mini really wasn't good... in any way. But seeing as Glads isn't the most used character of alll time, got to take what you can get.

This machine is leaking radiation that's pretty much Kallark's equivalent of kryptonite. But if it's not taken care of then Earth is doomed, so Kallark is more than willing to sacrifice himself to save everyone. Luckily, he's fine after.

Yo Lucid bro, any pics of Gladiator using speed blitz? He was described by Reed in Fantastic 4 that Gladiator is 100x faster than light speed, which is even faster than Superman....

I don't think Gladiator is as powerful as he should be. I mean, he's supposed to be pre-Crisis, yet he has lost to Thor sometimes and has had trouble with the Hulk. IMO he should be able to casually move planets and whup Thor and the Hulk without getting a scratch. He should actually be depicted as being truly pre-Crisis level.

Well, he does have pre-crisis level feats, but the only time he's been shown anywhere near that level was during his first Fantastic Four appearances and in a Marvel Comics Presents issue.

He should never lose to Hulk (unless he just dukes it out with him and doesn't use speed), losing to Thor is ok because Mjolnir is a great equalizer against anyone, but he should beat Thor the majority of times.

The problem is that he's not a main character. If he had his own book he'd be depicted as a much more stable level instead of being all over the place. But he's brought in to job and make the character with the actual comic look good.

In most cases he's depicted pretty well, just that he loses the fight in the end cause he has to. Then there's other cases which are complete crap (fights with Hulk, Gambit etc.)

I don't think he should be depicted as Pre-Crisis Supes level, cause that's a bit ridiculous. More around Surfer's level. High-End Herald.

Gladiator's hypervision allows him to see Galactus galaxies away...

I really think he's an untapped source for great stories. All we know about the guy is that he's of the Strontian race, supposedly millions of years old, and is even supposed to have been a Herald of Galactus at one point. Finding out his backstory and his rise to fame in the Shi'ar empire would makje for great reading.

Hey Lucid, or any1 who loves Gladiator, I heard that Bowen Designs is planning to release a Gladiator mini-bust in the future, which brings joy to folks who love Gladiator b/c he is not a character who is commonly picked for production, but Randy is a cool dude who produces stuff when there is a demand. So if you guys really want to grab this bust in the future, keep your eyes opened b/c I heard Bowen Designs will limit their statues/busts to lower run, which means fewer limited run will be produced.
