Matrix doesn't work that way. It neither protected Optimus from dying (many times) or ressurected him.

yup matrix just owned no autobots... it acted as a shield for Rodimus prime.. Distroyed Unicron.... Killed a hate plague... Its the universal PIS/CIS plot solver... it would probably cure cancer while killin supes...
