In the DVD version, when Luke is training on the Millennium Falcon, his lightsaber is first GREEN and then pale blue. Is this an error or was he using Qui Gon Jinn's lightsaber and swapped back.

starwars To me it seemed to go green and then change to white and then blue when he ignites it again but I think lucas just screwed up what he was doing he should just left the way it was in the original special edition but make it look better.

but in short, yeah they got it wrong. They added a filter and didn't bother to check the outcome

What i can't belive is with all this 'upgrading' they never computer frangered in some new lightsaber effects in ANH!? Un****ingbelievable

They did a little bit

The obi vader duel got a makeover, Lukes saber in ROTJ got one as well.


but in the process vaders ROTJ saber got fuked, as well as Lukes anh.


ESB could use some touchings, but if it stayed the same it still works

If they had gone over the original footage with CGI lightsaber blades like the PT ones, I would have been happier.

Lucas just wants to provoke discussion.

He does a great job a messing up his stoned audience.

Lucas just put that in there so he'd have to go in and change it later, giving him the excuse to frek up some other shet at the same time. The guy's gotta be stopped.

The lightsabers are freaking shaky in ANH, Vader and Obi even exchange lightsabers. Instead of looking at that, Lucas throws in some crappy CGI stuff wich stands out like hell.

Exactly what I was thinking. Every time I see some of those horrible-looking sabers, I just wish they had redone them to look like the PT.

I should make a thread about how the unevenness of the prologue text scrolling in ANH makes my eyes hurt and ruins the movies for me. We could use more anal, nonproductive threads.

It has been discussed before. It's probably exactly the same color as in the scene in OB1's house. It's just the other colors make it look green. They should have paid attention to that, it sucks.

I reckon I have the answer to this one and its sooooo simple...

When the Jedi fight against enemys with blasters what happens to the laser bolts that are fired at them? they bounce off and deflect off the saber blades right
Well what if you were training in a confined space with a remote firing smaller ( but still potentially deadly) laser bolts at you , and there were people nearby observing you, you couldnt deflect or bouce the remotes laser bolts for fear of causing damage to someone or something around you ( like Luke in the Millenium Falcon in ANH ).
Therefore my theory is that the blade on Lukes saber has been altered or changed somehow so as to only "soak" the bolts form the remote and this could cause a slight difference in the blade colour.
My theory is backed ,somewhat , by the fact that lightsabers have 'blade length and intensity controls'and 'modulation circuitry' built into them *.
These controls could be utelized for training purposes and re-tuning the crystals could change the color of the blade.

Now you have to agree, even GL probably aint thought of that one

Well, I know the opening logo moves about twice as fast in ANH.

The crawl on ESB is a lot bolder and wider.

I heard it had something to do with the filters they used caused the saber to apparently change color or something...
