whats up with this? i tried to put a custom smily in my sig and i was not able to.

omg someone noticed at last?


I've asked Raz about it..
and i got reply "Rules are rules"

It was officialy to stop ppl from adding a lot of pics to csm page just to have them in sig..or something..
I'm not sure...theoretically he made this rule ages ago..but somehow it started working just recently cry

Custom smilies have been disabled since March. I just noticed I handn't disabled all the tags then.

And RJ's current sig is a perfect example of why this limit is in place.

The Problem is that there are big ass "Smilies" .....look at RJ sig for example......

which someone could report that person if they had a thing that big. and then they will handle it. why make people like Clovie and Jedi Priestes suffer? the butterfly isn't big, but fairly small...and a flying superman?

First of all...interesting definition of suffering. Second there are probably other ways than allowing all CSMs and let epeople report ...(I mean if you allow something you could just ban you can't really punish people for using the power) ..... I don't know what is possible and what not, but Raz probably has reasons as to why ban them all......

true, and i was making a general statement for suffering. people have to suffer because those people use big smilies, ruining it for all...not like they are suffering from some sort of disease...

but if does no harm to the forum, why disable them? if the snily is not offensive, whats the harm?
another question..... if i change my picture sig, will the smilys be deleted? if so, will this be done automatically, or will i have to go back and manually delete them? also, if i keep my sig as it is, will the smilys stay as they are, or will i sign in one day and see that it has changed by itself?

It wasnt a potshot RJ. It was a mere statement about the way I felt about your sig NOT you.

well, it kind of rubbed me the wrong way. whenever i want to criticize someone or something of theirs, i always think how i would react if the same thing was said towards me. no harm, no foul, i guess.

again, i dont see why it is a big deal to have custom smilys in our sigs. i agree that there should be a limit, but to disable them completely, i dont understand.

because its my sig and i should be able to put anything i want in it, as long as it is in good taste.
BTW: i WAS actually gonna tone it down quite a bit, change the smilys and what not, but not now. i am gonna keep it as it is.

good point. heres an idea: dont limit the number of smilys, just limit the amount of space. like if 4 small smilys take up the same amount of space as 2 big ass smilys, thats the limit. to deny us custom smilys isnt cool at all.

because i've changed sig pic. so the old one got deleted, right? and then i couldn't save the new one because i got csm are not allowed-error.
so.,.yeah...if you wanna save them you can't edit your profile. at all.

If that's possible... I have no clue. I may allow them in future, depending on the demand. Although it would restrict them to very small smilies.

we have already been through this....why not just limit sig size and allow custom smilies instead of not allowing them? if they have a couple of custom smilies, then they would just have to make their sig smaller.
