Bishop and Cable

How integral were these two to the X-Men story/plot? It seems a lot of stories revolve around them, and their actions in effect decided both past and future outcomes.

How important are they? It seems very.

what do you mean by 'the x-men story/plot'? do you mean to foundation of the x-men as a whole, or just what place have they had with the team throughout the years? if it's the first, then i can tell you it was cable who outfitted xavier with the technology to build the original danger room and cerebro (cyberno,) and bishop ultimately prevented xavier from dying after a couple time jumps during the AoA crossover. if it's the second, check out kohl's links.
