My favorite is Morrison's JLA.

In terms of the most powerful, the Infinity Inc.

However I really like the Young Avengers. The Titans can go **** themselves.

3. X-Men Gold (Iceman, Bishop, Colossus, Archangel, Storm, Jean Grey)
4. X-Factor (Multiple Man, Havok, Polaris, Wolfsbane, Strong Guy)
5. Invaders/JSA

Defenders are the most poweful team/group assembled. Theyd own any team in Marvel.

A fight between them and JSA would be a good one. JSA having the edge slightly.

i think the jla because all you need is the smarts of the bat and the power of supes

Avengers for me. And Justice League coming in a close second.

I really like the Defenders, the Avengers and Alpha Flight

The Defenders is a team that just kicks ass.

The Avengers with Captain America, Iron Man, Wonder Man, Vision, Thor and Scarlet Witch was a team with alot of personality and great stories.

The original Alpha Flight was another great team with alot of personality and so undersetimated in power that it is ridiculous.

Authority

...most bad-ass team in comics by far.

JSA and The Ultimates come in 2nd for me.

The Champions. Angel, Iceman, Black Widow, Hercules, Ghost Rider, Darkstar. They own.

I dunno ... the Authority would give the Defenders a good run .... but the Infinity Watch would stomp the Authority.

Some Avengers teams have been pretty powerful .... but a top JLA team are probably a tad more powerful than the toughest Avengers team.

And what about the Imperial Guard? ... where would they place on a teams power hierarchy?

For a while the Thunderbolts were the most powerful earth based Marvel team (not anymore by the looks of it)

For DC I'm starting to like Shadowpact and the JSA (though the League would still take them)

Defenders are a ridiculously overpowered team. They have two of the most powerful characters in comics and two of the strongest, yet they would do things like fight street level characters and lose.

Anyone who reads 70's Defenders knows that shit didn't make sense at all.

I can't get into Authority. It's like they try to hard to be badass and edgy.

Just give me classic Avengers and I'm cool.

I'd say the Defenders and the JSA are the two best teams in comics.

i just wanted to say great thoughts on the hero teams. i prefer to view the teams greatness in respect to their individual comic book group{D.C.,Marvel, ect}; "NUFF" said about that. So in Marvel i guess my vote would have to go to the Avengers {however i also liked the Invaders } OH,Yeah, let's don't forget about the "Short Runners" like the Champion's, or another one of my fav's the Inhumans. NUFF ABOUT Marvel, let's talk D.C. as far as team's go here HAND'S DOWN THE LEGION OF SUPER HERO'S !!

JSA, by far my favorite team. Their iconic and can kick ass as noted the Teen Titans and the JLA look up to them.

My favourite is guardians of the galaxy
