Why does this forum exist?
Why does this forum of RELIGION exist?It's really quite uneeded.Nobody here is going to convert to another religion simply because of what someone online says.People are stubborn and are going to stick with their views no matter what.
The only thing that comes out of this forum is peoples feeling getting hurt when people bash their god or way of life.
I want to know why people even bother coming here and replying.It's obviously a lost cause.
people come here to discuss their religions and other peoples religions... since it is a very touchy subject and a very large amount of people should be alowed to express their opinions without cluttering up others forums... some people also come ere to learn more about religion... you should probably think about stuff before you talk...

I come here because I have come from a place in my life were I hated Christians. I know that this hate is poison in my life so I wish to be rid of it. It is good for me talk to Christians and see that they are just like everyone else. There are some evil Christians and there are some good Christians; seeing that reality is good.
I am familiar on the subject.I have been reading up on post and looking and threads and it all comes back to offensive debates and name calling.
How many people here ever just talk to christians in here about everyday things?How many come here and have a conversation without mentioning religon?The number is low.
Believe me,I would stick my nose in a place I wasnt familiar with.

That would be inappropriate for a thread on this forum, and would be moved by a moderator. But there is a Christian hang out and at least I consider that to be off limits to heavy debate. I realize that there are some people who go over board, but that is a problem with this forum, there is no direct moderator in charge of this forum. I report people who brake the rules, and I find it to be half-and-half Christian and non-Christian who brake the rules.
If you are a person who is not in control of your emotions, then do not come and post here.
I get alone with quite a few Christians and non-Christians here, but I don’t talk about mundane things, I would go to GF or the OTF for that.

Just like Shaky said...that's why we have the GDF and OFT. I find it quite interesting to read someones opinion in the general discussion forum and then see what their religious views are or vica versa.

Not for everyone is about conversion. My religion doesnt care for conversions - its a view discussion, or alternativly where people of likeminded religions can discuss - or promote other religions.
Not everyone has made their minds up - some are still searching for a religion.

This forum was not made for people to convert to another religion. Whoever chooses to convert or become an atheist after reading the comments in this forum is practically his/her own decision. You can't held this forum resposinble for the choices people make.
In this forum we learn,discuss, and observed religion and give our opinions regarding certain religious topics. And as far as that stubborn comment...you can always say the same thing for the GDF. And I doubt it will change.
I come to read mostly and open my mind so that the next time someone is knocking on your door you can ask them questions and see how much they know, and if they know nothing then say good-bye, but if they do know something at least I can make some good conversation. Also because its interesting to know what other religions are out there, some are extreme and others arent.
If you question the fact about a forum being created then look, read, and then post something educational, dont bash a thread, its like as if I was to go to the MUSIC forum and ask why is this thread created when all you do is listen to music.

In the past, I have just giving my opinion about god and have gotten people all bent out of shape. People can be really protective of their god.
I have most likely just offended a half-dozon people, just now. 😆
