BIG news on the DVD front this morning. It's all but confirmed that the 2 disc Deluxe Edition release of "Batman Begins", with the comic book, has been RECALLED and discontinued for the time being. Rumour has it that there were some rights issues associated with the comic that weren't cleared, thus resulting in the sets production and shipment being halted.

That said, I suggest anyone that hasn't already purchased their set, with the comic, do so immediately. If you're lucky, Best Buy has a lenticular cover, which was a limited store exclusive, making it all the more rare, you may be able to find this edition. eBay is bound to be flooded with them soon, so get yours while it's still affordable.

Hmmm, I've been to a few stores lately and haven't been able to find a single one of these two disc editions. Even my local best buy didn't have any, I figured they just sold outof them...

There's also a rumor that they were recalled because they found out that the feature commentary was not included and that they will be reshipping them once they fix this.

yeah I went to a few stores to find the SE and it was NOWHERE aggravated the hell out of me.

So what's the word on the one-disc edition?

I've got my deluxe edition with the comic...

I got mine the day of the release, and just yesterday, I bought another copy from Best Buy yesterday, with the lenticular cover, and plan on keeping it sealed until I know exactly what's going on.

I'm just glad I have the film in my dvd collection.

Yup, even watched it last night, life is sweet.

Just got it today. Can't wait to watch it. I dunno if the recall will happen down here, but never the less, I'll enjoy watching it.

I've seen two versions online, but my local DVD rental store only has the special editions. I'm going to order the Deluxe edition from JSDVD, i hope they'll sell me a copy before they recall them.

starwars I got the deluxe edition on the friday boom straight down to HMV there's the money and pocketed the film I was so excited that I nearly left my wallet in the store, I'm glad that I managed to get it. HMV is cool though when I bought Constantine there also got the two disk and comic version of that.

Went to best buy yesterday and asked on the situation.

They said they have a bulliten of recalled DvD's and movies, and batman begins: SE wasn't on there, but they were curious because there were none of them out.

The SE is new, and is just the 2 disk set. The DE (Deluxe Edition) is what has been discontinued. They're already recieving sets w/o the comic, labeled "Special Edition".

We were talking about the DVD with the comic indefinately. which is the deluxe edition, sorry...my mistake. they didn't even have the 2-disk without the comic yet.

there is the 2 disk special edition you mentioned. I guess I'll pick up both.
Just so I can rub it in faces.

I didn't realise when I ordered mine that it had a holographic cover on the cardboard box, so got a surprise.

HMV and Best Buy both got lenticular covers.

The one at HMV here differs slightly to the holographic image on my slipcase. The one I have is where you can see most of Batman and it covers the whole of the front, the one in HMV is more from shoulders up and has sides to the image.

I bought mine today. I was lucky, they're were stocked up with SE's & only had one ''Deluxe Edition'' left so picked it up, payed and left. As soon as i walked out of the store, i noticed a huge scratch on the hologram cover... oh well, beggars, can't be choosy.

Yeah, it was just that they stopped production to catch the error, then they started it up again. The Best Buy covered editions are still hard to find. I ended up selling mine, anyway. Didn't open, and I was just going to hang on to it for fun.
