Batman was never meant to be depicted in THIS childish a manner. In my mind The Animated Series was friendly enough to all ages without being too childish, but this new cartoon really crosses the line. I mean, the Joker turning people into playing cards? Just when Batman Begins achieves the task of taking such a proposterous concept as a man dressing up like a bat and fighting crime and making it seem real, this highly stupid and commercialised cartoon comes along and threatens to ruin everything. It's having the same effect as Batman and Robin. Batman may be a character drawn on paper, but he was never meant to be "cartoonish" like this.

I saw my first ever episode of that the other day.The one where Penguin holds Alfred prisoner.

The animation is crappy,the voices are awful.

And the Joker looks absolutely stupid.

I absolutely agree, i watched the Mr Freeze episode on childrens BBC LOL. That's where that load of crap belongs IMO.

the Riddler also looks terrible...like some goth. Clayface looked like clay...grey clay, not brown but he's clay so i dont really care about him.

the only thing I absolutely love about the show is the intro theme song...its so cool!

Yeah I watched a couple of the episodes when it first debuted sometime back and I had the same thoughts.Like you said,the voices are completely awful,especially Batmans,the animation crappy,and what they did to the joker was indeed a sin.They also made the penguin with brown hair instead of black.Man if they wanted to make more batman toons,they should have just made more from the 90's toon because this toon series really sucks.

I love the theme song. I hate Batgirl's costume though. But its not nearly as bad as you guys say it is. And I agree Joker's hair is a travesty.

jackie chan adventures was a fun show to watch. However the voice was off, and it did not look like the real life jackie.

Today's kids don't really care about any superheroes but Spidey. This series is designed to get kids into Batman and it's a good show.

I like Gothic Riddler..I think Jim Carry ruin old school Riddler for me. I still hate Penguin though.

I like the fact that his villains can fight back physically. Penguin's got some moves. Bats is smart and can fight. His foes should be similar.

But there are not many huans that can keep up with Batman, so there are some physical villains but most of his villains are psycho-geniuses. I mean just look at Joker, Two-Face, Riddler, Scarecrow Ra's (well he'S a decent sword fighter) and the likes they all rely on their brains and on thugs they pay....

agreed and I forgot this is early years Batman meaning won't be as skilled or as smart as his older counterpart..I wonder how and if they'd introduce Robin....they introduced Bat-girl first which is totally against the comics.

I just find something fundamentally wrong with a year one era Batman where Lt. Gordon has apparently been removed to make way for affirmative action in the persons of a black and a Chinese detective. Useless. Utterly useless.

At the moment my Brother loves this The Batman show and for some reason laughs at the new Penguin but he is 3 years old.
I do like the new Riddler though but the new Joker does look like a mutated chimp with dreadlocks!

They should just make a new live action TV series that follows the continuity of the comics. That would rock.

I like "The Batman". It innovative. And hipper. It rattles cages and ruffles the feathers of 'ol traditional crybaby batman fans.

Try to realize that this is batman in his like mid-20. so he's not as big or as experienced.

He kinda does have the Jakie Chan look but otherwise, i like it. the drawings are cool and Joker looks frikken crazier than ever.

But thats just my opinion.

This show feels like Ultimate Spider's Batman. I like it, but why does every episode have to have Penguin and/or the Joker in it? And Joker...put some shoes on!!!

I would've preferred Robin to Batgirl in this show. I hope Joker kills her.

I hate how all the villians are shallow crooks with none of the depth from the 90's show. Like mr.freeze the 90's cartoon made him repectable and you felt sorry for him but now he's just a monster that want's revenge. firefly is some punk not the pyromaniac from the 90's and clayface oh clayface how the mighty have fallen. And batman smiles too much. Batman does not smile he;s a sad man that if he was real would be taking steroids, anitdepresints and painkillers. This show sucks the only half decent villian on the show was Solomon Grundy but that was just Clayface. Lame

yeah but the real Grundy lives...so to speak..and teen Ivy wasn't have bad....I liked Mat Hagen Clayface...but Bennet Clayface...having Batman fight a close friend isn't too bad...though they could have use 2-face and kept Clayface Hagen..but what ya gonna do?

Batman Begins had a young Batman in his 20's, and he wasn't retarded like this one is.

I think Bruce has his 30th birthday party in the film... I don't think he's in his 20s.

The Joe Chill trial was seven years after his parents were shot, which would make him around 20 at that time assuming he was around 12 when his parents were killed, which I think is the upper limit of how old he was when that happened. Then he disappeared in Asia for seven years. At max, I'd say he's 27 or 28 in the movie when he becomes batman.

...which just made me think of something; if he was twenty something (not out of college yet) during the chill trial, then his girlfriend in the movie was probably around the same age...how does a girl in her early 20's end up being the district attorney of a major US city?!

Hm...I heard somewhere that he was supposed to be 29 until the birthday, but you might be right. I never bothered to sit down and punch out the numbers or whatever.

I'm not a fan of Yin, Rohas and what's his face. I don't like it when incarnations add extra characters out of nowhere. I'd have much rather seen ol' Harvey B instead. Too many things about "The Batman" annoy me, if I made a list I wouldn't go to sleep tonight.

Yeah, ive seen The Batman on CBBC in the UK, but i saw it first on the SKY channel Toonami. It just doesn't compare to the 90's Batman cartoon at all, but i don't think it is that bad, believe me the cud have made it a whole lot worse!! The theme tune is the best bit of the show, so eerie and creepy, just as Bats should be, but the animation and the way the villains have been changed is a crime especially the Riddler, i really dont like that gothic version of him, prefer the manic one any day. But the biggest change that is a crime is the Joker, everytrghing about him is so wrong and how come he doesnt have any shoes?!

Its not as dark as TAS but I wouldn't say its campy. Compared to many other kids action shows it's still realtively dark. The animation is a little to stylized for my taste though.

Anyway the only gripe Ive got with the show are the villians. The joker is first and foremost a clown, Im not seeing that in the show. He looks more like a drunken master martial artists who happens to have on alot of make-up or something. Mr. freeze becoming just some bank robber who got chemicals spilled on him is just lazy IMO they totally took out what made him interesting as a character. And for some unknown reason just about every villian is a black belt in some sort of fighting style, the penguin making the least amount of sense. But I do look the new origin of clay face.

The show just seems so much more generic now..

Been watchin the Batman for a couple of weeks on Sky Digitals CBBC channel and here are some of my comments:
~The clayface origin with Ethan is really good in my opinion.
~The only time i was pleased to see the new Joker was when he appeared in his suit yet i was still disapointed.
~i am liking the intro.
~Have no idea what the hell happened with the Riddler i mean its marilyn manson!
So far i am 50/50 on this show i dont hate it that much though!

Batgirl doesn't suck as much as I though she would have.
I like the Gothic Riddler...he's cooler than the "I'm smarter than you" Riddler in my humble opinion.

I think all of you have no artistic taste, the drawings are just amazingand i think the creators are trying to take the comic to a whole new level, making it more cool and modern. Sticking to the original drawings is crap and makes it look old school

Batgirl looks utter balls... I've only seen TB like twice but I accidentally got its spin off comic delievered to me twice when WH Smiths got the wrong ordere when I was trying to subscribe to Batman... its reall kiddy and retarded... and for that guy/ girl who said it would be perfect if it had romance:

just read some of the fourm now for the frist time i gotta say i dont think its to bad but it doesent do justic to bats batman vs dracula was awsome the animation isent to great batgirl isent a veary good char i do like the them song as for the riddler he is still a very smart char but yes stupid looking and over all wat i dont like is the badguys dont stay tru to the storie when it comes to backround story
