I am about to watch this movie again to refresh my memory(just got it on dvd) I want to know what you guy's thought of this movie,I will post more soon,as soon as I am done watching it......
deathbycorn
A few nice death scenes in it but I don't like the fact that Jasons 'soul' carries on from one person to another after that black bloke eats his heart.

Movie sucks. End of discussion.

No it's not.
Just finished watching this movie, here are my thoughts,
This movie opened up pretty good with Jason getting blown to bits in the first 10 minutes and his head flying off in slow motion which is one of the best scenes I have seen in the franchise,Even though you do not se Jason too much,I also think it is the best looking ''zombie jason'' since part 7,now with the movie just starting and Jason already blown to bits,we are left thinking

Now HERE is where it gets messy, this movie tried somthing different, now instead of Jason being the killer, well he still is,but his soul is using different bodies, which I thought worked pretty good but understand why some people did not like it.......I am NOT saying this is a good movie, but I think it is very watchable, and how's this.......
While watching it again I noticed the ''Book of the dead'' from the Evil dead movies is in this film
Which opens the question.....Is Jason's soul, connected with the ''Evil Dead'' somehow? ........I think so
Also this film has the BEST suprise ending ever!
Wolfie
The beginning was the best part of JGTH. It's weird how Jason looked pretty much the same from Parts 6 through 8 but then suddenly changes in JGTH.
The idea of the movie sounds great. You never know who the killer is! Jason could be anybody! But in execution, it falls flat. You wind up with a F13 movie that has the least amount of Mr. Voorhees since Part 1.
The highlights were the Necronomicon and Freddy's hand at the end. To answer your question, the book doesn't mean anything. Horrors used to reference to each other a lot back in the day.

Thanks for taking a bit of time with your post....I still wonder why they chose to put the ''book of the dead'' in it though.......Maybe they were thinking of doing a movie with Ash in it a long time ago......

What did you say about MacDonalds?!

deathbycorn
I'd have to say that yes this is my least favourite Friday the 13th movie.
Then would be Jason X & Jason Takes Manhattan.
tabby999
the movie has good areas, like the feel (they did a great job with some of the shots and the use of lights) but in the end, it falls in a heap. Jason 7 is my fave of the other movies after 1, but this didn't really do much for me at all
steverules
If freddys hand was at the end does that mean that it's connected with Jason vs freddy?
Impediment
I'd rather have my prostate checked than watch this movie ever again. It sucked. Period. Like CD said: End of Discussion.

Right OK. Anyone else got a better answer?

Freddy's hand did hint at FvJ. Of course, that took a very long time and it got fans of both franchises to want it more and more.
Impediment
The thread starter asked us what our opinons are about this movie, not make some kind of critique/statment about the entire movie. Thats my opinion. You don't like it?...........................oh, well.

Did Jason actually die at the end of Jason goes to hell?

How did he die? And does J vs F more aless pick of where jason goes to hell left? And does he go back to his original body in the end cause in Jason X he was in his original body (how is this when it was blown to bit's)? Sorry guy's but I have loads of questions and I need them answered.

Yes, Jason vs Freddy more or less takes off after Jason goes to hell,You also have to remember that Jason X takes place like 3000 in the future or something,so any questions about that movie cant really be answered, but I am guessing when Freddy brought Jason out of Hell that transformed him back into his origanal body,We also learn in Jason X that being ''Blown to bits'' does not affect Jason much like in ''Jason goes to hell'' Jason is much more than a zombie slayer,he is a evil demon, his soul could even be part of the ''Evil dead'' as I said earlier we see the ''book of the dead'' in this movie.........

Well in Jason X he did get killed but was saved by those wierd thing's that healed him. Thanx for answering my Q's.

Not quite sure what you mean by ''weird things''........I haven't seen Jason X for awhile though........but I'm happy to answer any questions you have about horror

tabby999
when he becomes "uber jason" those "weird things" from the healing unit fix him with steel. and by showing Jasons mask in the river on what looks alot like earth at the end, shows us another movie is a distinct possibility

I agree. Jason X was sloppy and JTM was just downright pitiful. Parts I and II are the BEST!!!
As for Jason Goes To Hell, I really wish his ass would have stayed in hell.
Please no more Friday The 13 continuations.
If there is a remake of the original, I hope they spend some quality time with it and make it badass!!

Thanx. Can Jason regrow limbs? In freddy vs Jason, freddy cut's of jasons fingers but in Jason X he has all five fingers on the hand where he had his fingers cut of in FvJ. And in part one of F13 jason comes out and grabs a girl and pull's her into a river and Jason looks like a corpse, but when he takes of his mask he doesn't look anything like a corpse, did he drown in the river or not?
I also noticed a mistake in FVJ, when Freddy set's of the spriklers Jason is sacared, but in part 6 of F13 he walks into a river to get Tommy, if he is so scared of water why walk into a river?

Are you sure he wasn't using the other hand? I dunno. Maybe that was something you weren't supposed to notice.

The end of Part 1 was a dream. Jason did not remain a kid for thirty(?) years and suddenly grow up a half a year later in Part 2. He didn't actually drown, he survived but everyone thought he did.

The fear of water was thought up by the director of FvJ. Some would argue that it's a stupid idea. I think it makes sense considering how many times Jason has "drowned" in the past movies.
steverules
I thought he only drowned twice, but it is a good idea considering he has drowned in past movies, but a bad idea considering pt 6 and since pt 6 came before FvJ it wasn't really a good idea since it was confusing. In the early movies like pt2 and 3 i noticed that Jason actually felt pain but what happened, now he doesn't really notice?

Pretty much what I would of said, but I am one of the people that thought it was a stupid idea showing Jason scared of water as the hardcore Jason fans simply know he isn't and there is heaps of examples of this the biggest one being JTM (friday 13th 8) Jason is underwater at the start of the movie, but one thing I can think of is maybe the human Jason was scared of water as after part 4 Jason turned into a zombie. So maybe Freddy was somehow tapping into his human mind and maybe in Jasons dreams he is human........plus there goes the fact it was in a dream so anything is possible.

Yes,Jason was actually Human and he did not die until part 4.As part 5 jason is not the killer,so from Part 6 Jason is a zombie.
steverules
In pt 4 how does he die? And at the end of pt5 does Tommy put on a jason mask and kill that woman or is it some else? And if it is Tommy why died he do it? (sorry I'm asking so many q's it's just next time I watch one of these movies I'll understand some of it).

In part 4 Jason died because Tommy chopped into his head or neck(cant remember exactly) with a machete(or something like that). That was the end of human Jason.
As for pt 5,yes it is Tommy,I have looked into this and because human Jason was dead, they were actually thinking of making Tommy the killer in part 6.....but in the end just decided to bring Jason back to the dead,so yeah they kinda stuffed up there.
steverules
In pt 3 he got an axe in his head so how come that didn't kill him? And in Pt 6, how come Tommy ain't bad I mean he hates jason then decides to be jason and then decides to kill Jason, why would Tommy kill someone and be like Jason?

In pt 3 he got lucky,Tommy is not bad in part 6 cause like I said he never was,Just take the end of number 5 as a suprise ending they decided to do.
steverules

I think it took a couple more drownings to develop his fear. Part 6 ended with him drowning, Part 8 ended with him drowning, I forget how Part 7 ended. He's drowned like five or six times if I remember correctly. I'd be scared of water too if I was him too (given Jason's IQ).
steverules
I don't like the sea, ever since jaws I don't go anywhere near the sea, and it's cold in there. Once I was in the sea and I was on my rubber ring and felt something pass under me, I instantly froze thinking a shark was under me....then I saw that it was a jelly fish.LOL

It didn't suprise me much, Freddy is a pretty smart bloke, compared to dumbass Jason, lol

Freddy is quite smart with a great imagination. Jason has the brain the size of a peanut. That one girl in Part 2 was even able to manipulate him and she was only wearing his mom's sweater. Freddy transformed into his mother.

Now back to Jason goes to hell......
I was saying it cause after a bad experiance with the sea I was really scared to go into the sea, and Jason is afraid of water cause he has drowned so many times, I'm just pointing out that after a few bad experiances with something you'll never want to do it again. Sorry should have pointed that out. And his fear of water I think it has something to do with his human side but his human side is what kill's people, he ain't no zombie he is still human, in pt 6 a cop shot square in the head and a zombie would go straight down after that, I think he's just afraid of water non stop. If he was a zombie then his soul wouldn't go into other people cause soul's aren't in zombie's, his soul is what makes him human.

Thats cool, what you said about souls.........I will get back to ya on it,gotta hurry!

confusedOk, but I was being serious, I mean I seriously doubt that Jason is a zombie.
Wolfie
"Zombie" is a loose term to describe Jason. Of course, getting shot in the head doesn't affect him and he doesn't eat people.
Super Zombie!

steverules
I think he is still human inly a little corpsy (LOL a little) and really bad teeth but apart from that he is still human and even when he is not in a dream world he is afraid of water.

Look to be honest,No one knows for sure,Not even the people who made the movie, what Jason is,but trust me.........He aint human

(well,not after part 4 anyway
BaronOBeefDip
Nope, definitely not human.

He may not be human no more but he's still Jason that's for damn sure.
