Mrs. Chung had 3/4 gallon of milk at the start of her children's lunch. At the end of lunch she noticed she had 1/3 gallon left.

a) what fraction of a gallon of milk was used at lunchtime?

b) If there are 128 fluid ounces in one gallon, how many fluid ounces of milk were consumed?

TwisterGameX

a) to get the answer, this is your equation...

3/4 - x = 1/3. to get the value of x, move 1/3 to the other side of the equation. the equation should be x = 3/4 - 1/3. when you get that answer, b should be fairly easy.

You have to have some sort of learning disorder to do math at that level at your age...

Well since 5/12 of the gallon of milk was used ... if one gallon consists of 128 of this fluid ounce stuff you have to divie the 128 by 12 and multiply it with 5 to get the result.

Clovie
oh..right..forgot to multiply by 5...and later i didn't know where you got that 5 from dunce

I need some rest. embarrasmentcrybag
