This time I deleted the files and cookies

Files aren't really deleted when passed though the garbagecan, the only thing the computer does it appoint the space the files use as free memory. The data is still there and can be recovered by simple programs, included in windows.

You could use a exteral harddisk to storage downloaded items. Be sure to delete all shortcuts in the documents entry under the start-button. (right-click, remove). You'll still be stuck with the cookies and temp files which are stored on the master harddisk, in the windows directory.
This might work: go to 'system recovery' under desktop features in the start menu, appoint the current date as recovery point, close and have fun on the net. Afterwards, return to system recovery and reset it to the point before you went online. The links and cookies will be a whole lot harder to find then. Not completely sure about it though...

Another tip, get a firewall that blocks cookies, that 'll help. And activate System Defragmentation, it focuses on concentrating data of active files and programs, while separating memory used by deleted files, making those harder to recover.
