Did the classical and memorable Teri do it better or does the unpredictable and hilarious Erica shine brighter as Lois Lane..?

Terri Hatcher wasnt IN the superman movies she was in the tv show Lois n Clark. Margot Kidder the Lois in the Supes movies. So you need to add to and change your poll.

And I prefer Erica Durrance to all of them.

I agree. Margot Kidder kind of worked as a pre-Crisis Lois, but she kind of made me hate Lois. Hatcher was okay, but it was kind of a crap show. Durance has the attitude, now if she only had the right hair color! And she looks reeeaaal good in a bikini (Aquaman episode), lol!

She doesn't seem to be real interested in journalism, though. That's a little odd.

Oh, and an internet theory is that Lois Lane as we know her will die, and Chloe will take her name and become the Lois of legendary fame. Myself, I find that highly unlikely.

Better? Hmmm, hard to say. I think both were/are great for their respective times. I gotta say...as an older fart, Margot Kidder was pretty attractive in her time.

She's young,that's why she isn't interested in journalism yet.And if you ask me,Margot Kidder's Lois Lane was absolutely OBSESSED with Superman.Erica's Lois Lane is the best and her Lois Lane reminds me of the one from the Superman animated series from the 90's.

I think Durance is the bets Lois by far. She has the attitide (not to mention the look ) She and Welling have great chemistry together. I think Hatchers Lois was a little too girly. Not really very Lois-like. But that's not to say she wasn't good, she was, just not great.

Stupidest theory I've heard. Chloe will die, and Lois is going to be sucked into investigative journalism in the wake of the tragedy 1.) To uphold Chloe's honor, and 2.) Figure out why she died. Perhaps there's a Lex Luthor tie in to the murder?

Erica Durance is HOT

Erica Durance is just another pretty face pulled off the plastic factory production line and cast in a popular 'teen' TV series. All of a sudden she's placed on this pedestal by the viewers as being "oh so great, and such a wonderful talent - oh, and she's sooo beautiful aswell". Her looks are the only thing good about her. I don't rate her as Lois Lane. Margot Kidder was a much more realistic portrayal of a 'real' Lois Lane - none of that "*bouncy bounce* I'm so excited" crap that Erica oozes. But, in her defence, she's just acting the part of 'smallville's Lois Lane' - fair enough.

Erica looks JUST like a Baywatch cast off... hmm... I wonder how much bare skin she had to show in order to land the Lois Lane part for Smallville? Speaking of Baywatch's eye candy cast, spot the ugly person in Smallville! I don't see any (apart from Lex: the over-rated potato head).

Erica Durrance gets my vote, but she needs to change her hair color to black.

I believe that the writers did a good job of making Lois a comic factor of the show without making her a clown. In addition, I believe that Erica Durance acts the part extremely well.

Contrary to Fist's lack of knowledge of Superman (going by his initial thinking that Teri Hatcher was in the original movies), I actually know for a fact that Erica Durance is no better an actor than anyone else who 'looks pretty' for the show, and therefore, in contrast to the rest of the cast, her looks do the acting for her.

I never said her acting was superior, I said that she acts the part superbly. There's a difference in skill, and the performance. She naturally creates a mildly comical environment onscreen, thus fitting what she is supposed to be on the show.

She doesn't naturally do anything with that script linguring over her head. However, she does naturally look like some very pretty girl. She got the job based on her look, not her talent, so stop deluding yourselves with crap about her being such a wonderful talent. Same goes to the rest of you.

They shape the person that looks the part into the role to be played, not the other way around. I'm sure there's quite a few Erica Durances (shyt name) out there who could've done just as good as job in the role as she has.

Smallville's Lois is supposed to be a martial arts expert and clever mouthpiece who happens to have a great body. Nah, that just aint real. It's silly. Superman doesn't become attracted to a martial arts expert at the Daily Planet.

To answer fist's question, no, Lexmas was episode 97, I believe. Closing in on 100, but not there yet.

And yeah, I think Erica does a better lois than Margot. Margot was always a bit too surly for my taste, I had a hard time believing that someone like that could really balance out Clark's overwhelming god complex with any degree of effectiveness. He needs someone more upbeat than himself, hence Erica's Lois. Anything else and he'd just get bitter and resentful

Episode 100 passed already. I checked kryptonsite.com witch stated that they passed that episode with the episode Splinter.
And I agree with Smallville that Erica Durance did capture the Lois picture that I did not think she could.

Then you misread it. Episode 100 does NOT air until January and it is the episode where a major character dies.

There is something else.

The point is, some people don't like to watch trailors (which are basically commercialised spoilers) or look for information on the internet or in magazines (e.g. tv guides). Some of these people happen to use the forums that are highly against users posting unexpected spoilers (i.e. without masking them), like this Smallvile forum right here. It's ignorant to assume everyone already knows about the spoilers in a post you're about to make. A spoiler is a spoiler, no matter how many people may know about it already.

Kidder was too bitchy, it seems. She had little humor or personality past her obsession with Supes. It may have been the writer's fault for that, but that aside, she was certainly not the best Lois.
Terri Hatcher had the right features for it, but the show was shit. Lois and Clark could have done so much better if it weren't cast as a kind of romance show. The named sucked ass, too.
Erika Durance does a great job acting as Lois, and the writers deserve credit for the character as well. They blended Margot and Hatcher's Lois, it seems, and came out with a positive, working character. Durance also plays the part quite well. I was a little suprised about Durance's hot bod in the show, seeing as how I never really saw Lois Lane as a sex symbol. But then again, you must remember that Clark ends up with Lois in the end, and I would think that Lois would give Lana a run for her money.
But hey, that's me. Personally, I think Chloe is the hottest in the show! lol!

Why people think Durance is showing us a good Lois Lane is utterly beyond me. Speaking with sarcasm and calling Clark "Smallville" is does not a Lois make. Nor does giving her the grumps, or making her seem "sassy" without any real substance. She just kills time by spouting quips until the script calls for her to wear a bikini. Margot Kidder and Teri Hatcher had a nice balance of substance and personality. Erica Durance's Lois is a fun character, but not all that deep.

The only people who think Erica is the best Lois Lane are hormonal teenage boys



I thought it was a clever play on words (Lewis and Clark). Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman was the whole title, which is a direct sequel to The Adventures of Superman television show with George Reeves and Phyllis Coats/Noel Neill, just with a more focus on Lois and Clark (well, that's self explanatory) than Superman.

I cant stand Durance...i find her rather ugly with her square head and her huge jaw line...her acting is horrible and thats about that...but its only my opinon..whatever thats worth

erica durance is also hot, but that isn't helping anything since her storyline is rather boring

Both are great as Lois Lane but I believe Durance is the definitive Lois Lane.

Durance doesn't compare to Kidder or Hatcher, imo. Not purely Durance's fault, though, poor writing and a weak character are more guilty than she is.

Quality-wise: Hatcher Kidder

Margot was good looking in her time. Erica Durance is only more attractive by today's standards.

Its sad that MK always gets the short end of the stick just because she wasn't exactly a supermodel. But that's what happens with female characters. In regards to critique, your looks always seems to be number one before anything.

I haven't seen much of people disapproving of MK because she wasn't a supermodel. She gets a lot of love for her performances, as she should because she did great, but I prefer Erica.

Also, Erica isn't just more attractive by today's standards. She's drop dead gorgeous. I'll never deny Kidder was very, very attractive when she was younger, but even if she looked like that now I'd still say Durance.
