Vanilla Pods are black in color, but the ice-cream is white. WHY ?

Unlike strawberry Ice-cream which shares the same color with the fruit. Or Kiwi, or Chocolate etc.

Alpha Centauri
Because the ice cream is vanilla flavoured. Not actual vanilla.

There's yellow cola, clear cola, green cola. Pink lemonade.

Actually, this stemmed from an argument i was having about how the brain reacts to colors and tastes in different foods.

It was also mentioned that without the sense of smell, its almost impossible to get the brain to guess the exact food you taste.

Alpha Centauri
Only in foods with similar texture.

Eg: Skinned and chopped apple and potato are hard to differentiate between if you pinch your nose real tight.
