If you ladies havent realized by now GUYS ARE DOGS! we care about one thing! i agree with a1.....(speaking for the majority who are titled dogs) guys wanna piece, no matter what it costs them.....if they have the money to toss around buying cars and such, i say more power to them. (for the guys like myself) we just want a little attention. a thank you or maybe even a hug or a kiss on the cheek from a pretty girl. most people would call this type losers, cause in the end, no matter what we do to get noticed, we get nothing in return. i guess you could call it a lack in self esteem. i myself was working at a toy store, and one of my co-workers was extremely beautyful. so for christmas, i got her a gold chained necklace with a cross on it. i had to save money up for it, cause we werent paid much and were part time workers. her eyes lit up and she said i shouldnt have. i wish she had felt the same way i did for her, but oh well. i think you could say we doubt anyone who looks so beautyful would believe in the "looks dont count" line, so we show our buying powers to get the girl to at least look our way. pretty needy, i know. but then ask yourself would you rather be with a pretty boy who fights to make ends meet, or the guy who will do everything for you (sure he doesnt look nice, but he worships the ground you walk on)?

To be with someone you like (and i mean really like) you need to establish a connection. And its done with dialogue. Dialogue expresses and conquers.
Then when that person has understood the nature of the interest, and reciprocates you know you are on the right track.

But when it comes to buying a gift, it gets really subtle. Cause its kinda forcing the other person into an obligation.

If that person isnt used to your tendencies, it may be akward. Im not saying you did wrong, but if say you gave her a simple flower before christmas when you were fooling around at work just by placing it in her hair, it would have broke up the ice on one of the many barriers in a relationship.

Though i admit you were very brave by doing that.

i personally don't think i could accept an extravagent gift like that from a guy, even if he was a friend... especially if i was with someone. i'd feel wrong about it... that i could in some way be leading him on or that i'm taking advantage of him.

simple things make great friend gifts from guy to girl or vice versa... jewelry is something else entirely.
