You're right.In the old comics he always tells Johnny to douse his flame because then he'll handle him.

Thing wins. He doesnt need to be able to punch him. He can just throw a car at him. And dont tell me HT will dodge it cuz he wont. Ben is Class 100, that means he can lift at least 200,000 pounds. a Car weighs roughly 3,000 pounds. That means he could probly throw a car at speeds roughly around 1,000 mph least. HT aint dodging that. Plus if HT does go nova, Ben's not just gonna stand there and watch him do it. HT needs time to build up to nova, in that time he's get smacked across the face by a flying car lol.

1. Human Torch takes a direct hit from Terminus, a Class 100 character. In milliseconds, he makes his flame hot enough to melt the ground he is flying onto, burning his way to a underground cave. He was not knocked out through the entire ordeal.

NEXT

The Human Torch is out of the Thing's league.

Thing's only chance would probably be to be close enough and thunderclap before Johnny cranks it up to 11 and starts buring things just by standing near them.
