Anyone read the latest Captain Universe issue's ? Gladiator seems to have had a power down !!!!!!!

Knocked over by the Thing, what ever happened to surviving 'Solar System destroying blasts'?

Not fast enough to catch a tidal wave ? I thought he was 100 x faster than the speed of light ?

That's totally insane, and definitely depowering someone like Gladiator to where he can be knocked over by the THING (of ALL characters), and cannot even move fast enough to keep up with a tidal wave (meaning that he is not even faster than the speed of sound since tsunamis travel at below mach 1 speed in deep water, and slow down greatly as the water becomes shallower).

This whole depowering thing is too much (which is why I was actually happy when I got a hold of All Star Superman).
As for Gladiator ....it is one thing to take away some of the more obscene powers (eg the deity level abilities) .....but making him into a character that finds the Thing as a challenge!!!!!!!
That's plain wrong!

Superman would have problems with anyone who is more powerful than a common street thug.

I haven't got my hands on it yet. Probably tomorrow. I heard he had a pretty good showing against Uni-Powered Invisible Woman though. As for the rest, well, that's just how it goes for Glads these days. He seems to be getting weaker and weaker. Which isn't a bad thing as long as they don't take it to far.

Although i wouldn't want to remind you that it was a significantly De powered Uni power ! Great strength feat tho !!!!!!!!! Him and IW create a huge tidal wave with about two punches ! Nothing Current Supes isn't capable of, tho !

What i find weird is the writer giving him what seems to be a low showing after a good one?

Very good ending to what has otherwise been a rather disappointing mini ! I bought all the issues today, but the first three don't even come close. The SS's appearance maybe good tho ! Gladiator does look impressive but he is beaten quite badly by the uni power, and he requires it extra speed to catch up with a tidal wave ! Thing does floor him as well ! Although you could argue that Aquaman (A Thing level character) can floor Superman !

Has the Silver Surfer issue come out yet, or is that this week..?

Thing never did anything to Gladiator (punched him while not looking) ----ohh thing has done this to almost anypower he has battled.

Gladiator did pretty good agaisn't Uni-Power.

Him needing the Uni-Power and taking him 2 mins it's just stupid........ Bad speed.

Well i read the issue and overall it was a good Gladiator issue beside that one PIS moment. The CU Surfer issue was pretty good aswell.

gladiator of course would knock out super. besides galactus gladiator is one of the most powerful guys out there and he is in a way actually.

Ben has knocked most all of the big timers on there ass at some time or another (THANOS, THOR, Herc, SS, HULK, Destroyer, Dragon man...Etc... The list is endless.

Ummm... You forgot almost always correct.

Y'know what's extremely stupid about him not being able to catch the tidal wave?

In the beginning of the comic we see him fly from further than the moon away, to the baxter building in the space of a few spoken sentences...

My theory is: He's just been on the losing side of a fight so he's not feeling 100%. Also you'll notice when Reed's telling them about the tidal wave Glads sais "I don't think i...". Therefore he didn't have the confidence to do it, so he couldn't...

That's right, i played the confidence card. But really it's just a PIS moment to give a reason for the uni-power to bond with Glads. Which is fine cause Uni powered Glads looks pretty damn cool IMO.

He has shown that type of speed, and travels Galactic distances in minutes doesn't mean he is always going or fighting at lightspeed.

Speedsters with other powers usually don't use much speed in battle.

That's like 10x lightspeed at least.

But seriously, those do sound hard to top actually. Glads has heard a siren from many lightyears away and gotten back very damn quickly (don't know exact times or distances on that one though). Superman is THE dominant character in DC.......he has more feats just due to that alone........Gladiator is just a side character that does cameo's. Besides Superman's power level changes with the tides

Yeah, cause i don't read any Superman titles i've been ignorant to just how powerful he is recently. But seeing the scans popping up the last couple of weeks it's obvious he's a lot stronger that i was giving him credit for. My official opinion on Gladiator vs. Superman is that they'd both beat each other 5/10 fights. (for now at least)
