Best Comic
JSA. Consistently awesome writing, consistently awesome art and last but not least consistently ships on time.

Best Superhero
Hyperion. An interesting take on a blatant clone character. JMS did an amazing job writing this character.

Best Superheroine
Power Girl. Been waiting for her to come into her own and it's finally happened. Here's hoping she makes it out of Crisis alive.

Best Supporting Character
Hunter Zolomon. Zoom II

Best Writer
Geoff Johns. JSA, JSA Classified, The Flash, Infinite Crisis. Nuff said.

Best Artist
Alex Ross (Justice). Duh.

Best Battle
The Flash Vs Zoom (Flash 225)

Best New Character
The Goddamn Batman

Best Costume
Photon II Genis-Vell

Best Improvement
The Flash's Rogues Gallery. Once a group of shmucks and now a serious threat. Probably my favorite group of Rogues this side of Batman.

Best Mini-series
The Ultimates 2

Best Crossover
Infinite Crisis if it can hold up.

Best Moment
Earth-2 Superman's emergence into the DCU on the last page of IC #1.

Best Cliffhanger
The Ultimates 2. Identity of the traitor.

Piedmon
Best Comic - Astonishing X-Men. Great writing. Great art. Not the most imaginitive or groundbreaking title, but in terms of pure technical quality and beauty, it can't be beat.

Best Superhero - WOLVERINE pirate

Best Superheroine - Spider Woman  yeah, yeah, New Avengers #4, p. 3..... panel 1.

Best Supporting Character - Dr. Strange (it's now his job to lend credibility to every Avengers storyline, ever.)

Best Writer - Grant Morrison *RSPKT* I'm probably the only person on the planet who's been buying and reading his Seven Soldiers minis, but it's a brilliantly imaginitive and tightly constructed superhero yarn. Very bold, very Morrison. I love it.

Best Artist - John Romita jr. He MADE Millar's Wolverine arc, and he even makes the Sentry's purposefully hokey costume look cool. (I like the gauntlets.)

Best Battle - Wolverine vs The Gorgon. x2 JRJR really outdid himself, Millar's prose was in top form, and even if the end was cliched, it was done flawlessly.

Best New Character - THE SENTRY. (technically he didn't debut this year, but he did only JUST begin interracting with the rest of the Marvel Universe again.) You all know why I think he's a brilliant character, just as I know the larger part of this board doesn't understand, want to understand, or like him.

Best Costume - Luke Cage. OK, so technically it's not a costume, but he is the sharpest-dressed hero in Marvel these days. I'd feel like a real dumbass running around in day-glo tights next to him.

Best Improvement - New Avengers. It's a testament to Bendis's writing ability that he made such an unlikely comic come together and work for me. I realize not everyone else shares my opinion of this comic, but

Best Mini-series - The only complete mini I read this year was House of M, and eh.... I just can't bring myself to vote for it even if it was the ONLY thing I read this year.

Best Crossover - See above...

Best Moment - I might get flamed for this.... New Avengers #5. "Oh no! I tore my Spider-booties!" "You call them 'booties?'" I laughed my head off for about five minutes straight, right in the middle of a cafe.

Best Cliffhanger - The resurrection issue of Astonishing X-Men. (Remember when they revealed that B&W page with the Pheonix? FOOLEDYA, HUH!?)

Best Villain - PC Superman.

Best Company - Marvel.

In my opinion, basically all the best stuff comes out of the Ultimate books.

Best Comic - Ultimates 2. Just an awesome story with awesome art and everything to go with it. Plus with the traitor maybe being Cap and the whole thing with Thor it adds alotta suspense.

Best Superhero - Ultimate Captain America. All of 616 Cap's traits, except more ruthless.

Best Superheroine - Ultimate Invisible Woman. First of all, for a comic chick, she's bangin! lol. Secondly, she's very powerful and when she rejected Ult. IM in Ult. Secret that was hilarious.

Best Supporting Character - Ultimate Thing. Lately in his own book, Ult. FF, he's barely even been appearing, but overall, as the supporting character to Reed Richards he is the best in my opinion.

Best Writer - Mark Millar. He writes both Ultimate FF and Ultimates 2. 'Nuff Said

Best Artist - Steve McNiven. He hasnt been really doing much lately except for the Ultimate Secret covers but he's taking over on the NEw Avengers in a few issues and, well, basically, he's just my favorite artist.

Best Battle - Well, wut WOULD have been the best battle would probly have been Ult. Namor vs Ult. Thing, but Namor made excuses so it never happened. But so far, my favorite battle was Ult. Annihilus and his goons vs Ult. Thing but that wasnt the best. The best was Ult. Thor vs the Ultimates.

Best New Character - I dunno.

Best Costume - I love Ultimate Thor's costume. It's like a more modern, street version of his 616 costume. Plus his hammer is so much cooler in Ultimate.

Best Improvement - I think Supreme Power going to Marvel Knights is actually a good thing. I mean, we dont need to see naked blue chicks, that's just nasty. I mean, yea, out of comic chicks, Zarda is probly the hottest chick ever, but we dont need to see her naked for 2 issues straight that's just the writer being a perv.

Best Mini-series - Ultimate Secret. I think this Ultimate Gah Lak Tus Story is one of the best ive ever read so far and it's just been getting better. In my opinion, Ultimate Extinction, NOT HoM, will be the true BIG EVENT everyone will be talking about.

Best Crossover - It's not out yet, but im willing to bet Ultimate Extinction is gonna be AWESOME.

Best Moment - When Ult. Thing kills Zombie Hulk in one punch.

Best Cliffhanger - Ultimates 2. By Far. It has two huge mysteries. Is Cap really the killer? Is Thor really insane?

(I added this one)
Best Quote - When Ult. Thing was standing in the path of Ult. Namor so Ult. Namor says something along the lines of "Get this monstrosity out of my path before i am forced to punch a hole in it!"

And why not? Even if its something as simple as him saving innocent people from a crash, hes a hero in my eyes.

He's even fought in WW2. World hero.

He's just misunderstood.

8bitChris
Best Comic - Sumpreme Power/Ultimates

Best Superhero - Hyperion

Best Superheroine - Power Girl

Best Supporting Character - Cable (lol)

Best Writer - Brubaker, Vaughn, Millar (one of them, I can't choose)

Best Artist - John Cassaday

Best Battle - Ultimate Thor vs. Ultimates and European heroes.

Best New Character - Gravity

Best Costume - Deadpool

Best Improvement - Definately Captain America

Best Mini-series - Great Lake Avengers or Phoenix Endson

Best Crossover - *coughs* It's been a bad year for crossovers.

Best Moement - Cannonballs@! Deadpool joining the X-men

Best Cliffhanger - Ultimates Traitor

But he was the first anti-hero. wink

He's in the gray area, I think. Like Punisher.

Ehh. Yea he was the first anti-hero in a way. However he was a hero first.

And i wouldnt call a full anit-hero. I mean he was only trying to protect his kingdom. After all it was the surface world who started it. sad

Exactly my point. Thanks Scoobles. Its always the surface world with the pollution or killing of sea life that makes Namor want to invade. He always has reasons.
