leroy is going to bake a carrot cake for his wife 's birthdays. Some of the ingredients in the cake mix include nuts and oil. He used 1 and a half cups of nuts and 2 cups of oil while making the cake. Since he knows his wife likes nuts he added 2 more cups of this to the cake mixer. How many more cups of oil did he add after he added the nuts.

His Wife Likes 'Nuts' Eh?

all women should like nuts and oil all over them

I don't think thats the answer shock

Assuming you want the same ratio of nuts to oil, about 4 and two-thirds cups of oil.

Edit: Oops. I mean, add 2 and 2/3 cups after the original two cups of oil.

2 1/4

Not Quadruple Checked, And Done In My Head. 😐

Thats because 4/6 is the same as 2/3, just reduced.

What do you mean omg_smilie

Hey hey, add the 2 cups to 2 and 2/3 and that makes 4 2/3.

Besides it could be 4 2/3. See, to contain the extra nuts inside of the cake, you'd have to add flour, and to keep the cake moist, well, lots o' oil.

I can't keep an amateur of learning from the best. smartass

Crazylover was correct back there, assuming the nut/oil ratio has to remain constant. If not, the guy just added 2 cups of nuts without adding extra oil.
In logistics, the answer has been mentioned by now

Sure the total would be 4 2/3. But the question wasn't how much total oil he added, instead, it was how much more oil will he need. So the answer is 2 2/3 more cups of oil needed.
