Why GL is and isn't annoying

I'd have to go with not annoying because I think that some of the points that suggest he is annoying are actually quite good, like using everyday life things as inspiration for designs for space craft and what was wrong with Howard the Duck, c'mon it was a cool movie!!!!!

what does it matter how you get a design of a ship?

Doesn't bother me, but the site for the link mentions it as one of the reasons for GL being annoying!

At the midnight showing that I went to, a guy showed up that some of the other people in line recognized as a trekkie started screaming and yelling at him.
