I'm also pretty sure that she made the videogames/idea for a design competition for a convention. I read it on one of the gaming website's, but I forgot which one.

well..in my opinion that game, if it ever came to fruitition would be the perfect game for the DS...
since it is the only platform right now which can bring all the necessary features required to the table to make this game an experience for MATURE AUDIENCES! always keep that in mind...

You completely misunderstand the concept of the game. The developer's purpose for it was to teach young children (females) sexual techniques.

Now, I don't what it has to do with being American, but that's pretty sick to me, and I'm sure Germans would agree.

no not kids...mature audiences...if understood it correctly it should be rated R...ergo not for young children...

it has nothing to do with being american but rather the general perception of a topic such as sex in each others country...other than gory games...

for example games like "Manhunt(er)", "Resident Evil" or "Postal 1/2" in Germany all those games landed on the index...meaning that they didn't even made the 18+ stamp...now i don't know what rating a game like "Leisure Suit Larry" got in the US but in Germany it got a 16+ stamp...

what i'm trying to say is that we (.the german rating council) really don't make a big fuss about a game that is meant for mature audiences..but rather focus on violent games..unlike in the US or elsewhere..

you mean games that come from 3rd party studios such as EA, UBI Soft, or Konami and not from SOny or Microsoftstudios?
now Nintendo on the other hand still wants to focus on games suitable for children where the whole family can join in..yes you can say that is some kind of stigma for Big N and it's products to be known in the market as "kiddie consoles"

I say change the target to 14 - 16 And this game should have came out earlier.

Its designed for young girls, so when they go through their teen years and so on, they understand different ways to please themselves. Its sick. If its rated R, it defeats the purpose of the whole thing.

You are still completely missing the concept of this game. It is designed for young females, so as they enter their teen and beyond years, they will be able to pleasure both themselves and/or mates.

Actually killing people doesn't sound as bad as playing with yourself in video game case...with bunnies.

This is an interesting dilemma. Firstly, if they showed those same pictures and said "Extremely early demo pics of a pet sim, this time with rabbits. You can pet, sing to, blow on, your pet rabbit, and see its reaction in real time" every ninteo fan would immidatly start praising nintendo for its innovation. From what is being proposed, there is really nothing "sick" about the game. Its just like any Nintendogs where you can pet and play with your dog. There would be no nudity and no hint at sexual intercourse. "Winning" the game just makes the bunny fly around. Its just a game where you pet a bunny. Now, lets try and use our imaginations and image that this game is made. Of course, everyone would want to ban this very evil and sexual game, or at least stick a mature rating on it. But why? Its just a game where you pet a bunny. Its not GTA, there are no on screen hoes running around, no boobies floppin around on screen, no drugs and drive bys. Just a bunny. But it still gets banned, what would that say? If we would ban a game about petting a bunny, based on that its kinda of a metaphore of female masturbation, we would be banning the idea that women should know how to sexually stimulate themselves. The game is just a metaphor, nothing actually perverse or sexy happens. Acorrding to the way I understand and rate games, you cant ban or rate games based off of what they kinda hint around at or are metaphors too. It has to be real tangible content. But Im sure if it was released, it would be the subject of criticism and bans and etc anyway.

Its interesting. If this game was developed normally, and no-one ever mentioned that the game's petting mechanic was modeled after the female orgasm and arousal, it would be released normally and probably bought up by everyone with a DS. But since a developer opened her mouth and said her intention with the game, suddenly a game about taking care of and petting a bunny rabbit is the sexiest and most perverse game ever envisioned.

First, it was for a design contest.
Second, Nintendo cannot stop somebody from making a game on there system
Third, Nintendo hasnt offically stated that they are allowing this game to be sold.

Nintendo is not at fault for this prototype. Once is starts being sold online or in stores, then they can be faulted.

Also, as Sats said, there's nothing sick or perveted about the subject of the game. It's not aimed at "young kids", its aimed at teenage girls, who if I remember junior high and grade 9, these "young kids", are alot worst than what this game does.
