Hi, I'm new here, but I think you all may be able to help me. I'm trying to find the name of a few old movies I saw growing up. I'll tell you about the first one:
I believe the movie came out in the late 80's / early 90's. There is a man that lives in a large city (maybe New York) and somewhere in the movie, he picks up a payphone and hears a conversation where he finds out that a missle is headed there to the city. They have like 24 or 48 hours ( something like that) to get out of the city. He starts telling people and somehow everyone finds out and it is almost impossible for everyone to escape with everyone panicing. The man tells his parents, but they decide to stay and die peacefully at their home. He gets his girlfriend to go with him, but it is too late to get out on time, so they have a man with a hellicopter that is willing to help and they try to get out but I dont think they make it. I'm sure some of that stuff may be a little off. But I tried, lol. If anyone has any suggestions on what the movie might be, please feel free to respond..
For some reason, I always think the main guy / character was played by Tom Hanks, but I've looked up all his movie, and I don't think any sound like it. So maybe a look-a-like or my crazy imagination.
