There's no "C" in Respek dummie!

It might be possible in the future to alter some of this....alphabetical lists, a seperate post for DC/Marvel Respect threads, and adding to/changing the list of threads. It'll be an ongoing thing. For now, though, I think this is a good start and I asked Paola if she could pin it. Hopefully it will help to enforce the new "1 thread per character" rule as well.

I was going to rate the respect threads (since some rock and others have about 2 posts) but that'll probably a later iteration of the list. I'll post new master lists as we get more and more respect threads, and those will hopefully be alphabetized, rated, etc.

(To be told the truth, Wonder Man kinda attacked Namor from behind in the first issue. And he ambushed Namor on the second issue. Wonder Man and Vision also knocked out weakened Tyrak...Still, I have no qualms accepting that WM is stronger then Namor...)

I started...I finished with about 2/3 of them. I tried to give credit to anyone who has posted considerable scans. I also grouped them into DC and Marvel.

And congrats, Mungi. You're responsible for 1 of 3 perfect scores (Longpig and Darkcrawler are the other two).

It doesn't really mean anything...but I just thought it would be a fun way to give credit to those that deserve it and let people know which respect threads are good and which suck.

P.S. And don't worry Blair, the Iceman thread still beats the hell outa quite a few of the threads...we can't all make insanely epic threads like Mungi, LP, and DC. The WW/Herc/Spidey threads come the closest, but they still are a long way off.

I would kinda disagree with this. Shocker is quite smart, he did build his weapons himself. He also leveled an entire building in one issue, and it was not a small building, it was entire bank.

Now, Vulture would be a nice example.

If it comes up, there's no real consequences...the worst that could happen is massive thread-deletion. There's been similar stuff with links to setions of movies, and there wasn't much of a backlash...so we should fine.

Anyway, I might start being selective about adding respect threads...the current Cap one has 0 scans...I'm hesitating to put it on at all unless it shows some more promise.

Best reason ever. But i agree with Mungi most. It's obscure characters like AF and Spawn and maybe inthe future Excalibur (if anyone does one) that we're basically promoting.

I'd LOVE to do an Authority one so that more people know what they can do...but my scanner doesn't work. The only reason I can do the Spidey scans is because I have those comics in CD format.

Still, I may just post a comprehensive list of feats and issue numbers...even without scans it might worth it to get them respect.

Yeah sure, the Hulk thread is great...but despite probably about 200 scans on page 1, pages 2 and 3 have nothing at all...I changed the note to give it some more credit for being the first on KMC, but it just doesn't have as much stuff as any of the 9's and 10's.

Hey Digi, there have been some new respect threads, like Batgirl, and Quicksilver, and such. I know the one that made the Batgirl thread posted in this thread to let you know, but i don't think you knew about the Quicksilver one.

Anyway, i was thinking maybe you could/should post a note in the first post of the thread, saying that people that make new respect threads should either PM you or post a link in this thread. Because it's really not in your job description so to speak to look around for the new respect threads.

I'm on the forum enough that I see them eventually anyway, so it's not a big deal....the Batgirl one is in the directory already though. I have yet to check out the QS one, but I'm aware that it's there.

I might start being more selective...like if there's no scans at all, not adding it until it shows some promise. I don't want a deluge of half-baked threads flooding the directory. Lots of people still seem to think they can start a thread and rely on others to post scans. But provided there's any sort of effort, it gets added eventually.

I'm getting bored. Soon i'll update the Spawn thread and then make a new one for Supreme (the one from Image Comics). Then Digi will hopefully make a new category (Image comics) and i will have made the only two existing threads for it.

I'm foregoing the Authority respek thread indefinitely. A new scanner is high on my priority list, and while I don't have tons of money I should be able to get one within 6-7 months or so. Once that happens, I'll do it right. That's really the only other characters I'm qualified to do. Mainly I'm just a big Spidey geek, so most of my work with the respek threads is done.

...all in good fun though. It's only happened like 2-3 times ever with any post. Every now and then it's hard to resist the temptation to play a trick on someone with it. Just nothing too malicious and it stays harmless...

The Surfer one has been bumped up a couple times already.

I don't get to look at these threads often, and really can't keep up with most of the updates. Thanks for mentioning them, and I'll look at them when I get the chance, but since I just created them to be fun and respectful of those who've posted a lot, I won't turn it into a chore for myself to constantly check them.

Also keep in mind, with some ridiculous (1000+ scans) threads with a 10 rating, I have to be stingy with stuff. So something like, say, 7 is a good score.

mine said that the first time i tried to use it after installing it, i turned off the comp, made sue all the wires were in as fas as they could go and restarted it... it works fine now

your post has gien me new hope and strength infact i have decieded to checkl all wires and reinstall it ...................................................................................tommorow

I may have to create a new Directory, and have be DC and the other Marvel. There's only so large a post can get (something like 10000 characters I think), and my initial post is near the limit.

Making a respect thread is fun. I'm actually thinking of posting some more here.
