Inbetween A and B - Hobgoblin

B-List
Classic villains that would be arch enemies for any other superhero.

C-List

Good enough to be used regularly in the comics over the decades, but unlikely to be used in a movie.

lol wow I am the first one to answer, weird well I agree with you mostly, but Lizard would be an A-B like Hobby, and I would say Shocker would be a B, he is pretty cool, or at least I like him.

Ok,so what's Shocker ever done that ranks him as B-list???

I just want to hear reasons as to why people rank the villains.

well I just thought he was cool enough to be B-list. He really didn't do much though...

I don't agree.He's Electro lite.A thug villain with electric powers no where near as strong as Electro's.

He's a C-lister to me.

hahaha i did a post last time asking what kinda powers did Shocker have...were they electric like Electro's or vibrational or what?

the answer i got was: they are shockwaves.... (guess like the ones you get after a bomb explodes, etc)

Most obscure villain: Slasher (some girl who used blades)

A-list in Comics: Kaine, Jackal -- both pretty influential to Spidey's mythos but I don't think they would be good in a Spider-man movie.

B-list: Morlun? He's cryptic..he's virtually unstoppable, but again...I don't see him in a Spidey movie any time soon.


As a matter of fact, I think most of Spidey's villains are not very A-list. They are very colorful creations, but black and white in their depictions.

More obscure villains: Typeface, Walrus, Stegron

I did this once a few months ago, because I'm in the process of making a few comics of my own, and I have a shitload of villains so I wanted to put them in order of importance and such. I used Spider-Man as the ranking sort of thing like you're doing now, but I broke it down into different categories. I do overall agree with yours though. This is how mine essentially went:

ARCHENEMIES:
Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Venom, Carnage.

SECONDARY ARCH-RIVALS:
Electro, Lizard, Hobgoblin, Mysterio, Kraven...

WORKERS:
Shocker, Rhino, etc.

RARE VILLAINS:
Beetle, Tombstone, Smythe, etc.

BOTTOM OF THE BARREL:
The Spot, Big Wheel, all those people.

I'd put Morlun on the A-list.

Ok why is Morlun A-List???

Please don't say it's because he ripped out Spider-Man's eye and ate it.You have to do better than that to rank along side timeless classics like Ock and Green Goblin IMO

Morlun's had like 2 arcs and he's A-List???

Please people give me reasons why.With the likes of Ock,GG and Venom we don't need reasons.But these one shot or two shot villains.Why would you rank them A-list??

i think they're only "supposedly" A-list villains. Like...they made a big deal how they were gonna change Spidey history, but like you said Oc, they only came out once or twice...and most people forget about them.

I think Venom is the only semi-new villain (80s) that became truly A-list...meaning he's featured a lot in stories, has a strong fan-base, and affects both Peter and Spidey. He hits him to the core. He has such a strong influence that people want him in the movies and even in the Animated Series, they included him alongside classics. In the videogames too. Everyone after him (Kaine, Morlun, etc) wanted to be the next big thing but never approached his status. He's like Batman's Bane.

I think A-list villains are villains who have tormented Spider-Man for years,and have had significant impacts on his life in some way or another.

Morlun's recent antics are certainly not something Spider-Man will forget in a hurry.But at the same time he's new.A rookie.If all he's going to do is pop up and rip out his eye and then get bitten and die.

Well I'd make him B-list.And even that's pushing it.

But that's my opinion anyway.

Kingpin-got an Ultimate arc before Ock or Venom. You really can't mess.

The Spot isn't worthy to roll in Kraven's spittle. the Hunter needs to be B-List, maybe C-List. Rhino should make C-List too.
