Alpha Centauri
Obviously going with personal preference.

What is your favourite heavy song? By that I don't mean a few heavy riffs, I mean unrelentingly heavy. Like an assault on the ear drums.

Go for it.

Alpha Centauri
I Hate Posters Who Can't Just Answer the Damn Question by Alpha Centauri.

Oh wait, that's not a song, that's just my opinion of you.

I clearly haven't decided yet have I? I made this thread because it sprung to mind.

-AC

Bierbommetje
Probably Angel of Death at the moment

Darth Revan
In Flames- Only For the Weak smile

Victor Von Doom
Don't like songs without a sense of melody.

Deano
well AC i would have to say:

any children of bodom song played loud will kill you.

gorerotted - 'only tools and corpses' album

mortician' who are the heavist most mental band out there

Ronny
Hmmm.. id tell you but you'd all make fun of me for my Nu Metal closetside stick out tongue

Slay
Well I know it's not very vicious, but Master of Puppets by Metallica, always got me pumped with energy and into those random rage moments...

Alpha Centauri
Yeah, I agree. I didn't mean heavy with no melody at all, I mean heavier than usual.

I think Homewrecker by Converge is mine. In terms of sheer, slicing impact.

-AC

Slay
In that case

Dream Theater-The Test That Stumped Them All,is one of them to.

Alpha Centauri
Whilst Homewrecker is a fantastic song (from an amazing album in my opinion), it wouldn't be as vicious with Jacob Bannon's vocals.

He can sing really melodically when he chooses to, but most of the time he decides to try to transform into a banshee.

-AC

Victor Von Doom
Probably Wreath by Opeth.

tabby999
oh oh oh Bulldozer - Machine Head, that song is amazingly heavy

Slay
Bulldozer droolio

But it doesn't really do the ''Trick'' for me...at least not like Master of Puppets or The Test... do.

Alpha Centauri
Master of Puppets is too amazing. When they play it live, James gets way too over-excited.

It's excellent.

-AC

tabby999
indeed, they ripped it up when i saw them

Slay
Well i have absolutely zippo chance of seeing them performing it live.Seeing as i live in Holland, and Aardschok Festival is no more...

Deathcow
Favorite one now has to be "The World Burns" by The Haunted...

Deathblow
Saga by Willhaven. As unrelentingly loud as they come.

Alpha Centauri
They're touring soon, Will Haven. I forgot who with though. I think it was Crowbar.

dependant on your fine-definition of heavy/vicious i'll add Mastodon - March Of The Fire Ants as well.

Confessional and Blood Junkie by Lamb of God

Grimm Reaper
Dig by Mudvayne! It has some heavy riffs and chords, some harsh lyrics delivered in shredding screaming style plus Chad Gray's AWESOME scream at the start really mixes well with the bass riff.

moshtitan
...ya, you guys are real heavy...

the aborted-dead wreckoning
