But anyways, you are right, not a great word. Although if it is only used like Newcomer or maybe even Newbie it is not necessarily bad, it is true though that nowadays it is used to insult new people.

I use newb for new people who dont really know much about the forum yet. Noob is for idiots that deserve it and dont change their stupid behaviour.
