Sorgo
A "certain" Moderator has decided he would take it apon himself to wrongfully ban someone... Again!

His name? Ushgarak, of course.

He decided that some of the threads that Ianus created went against the rules and were completely unaccepted.

Too bad that's complete bullshit.

"Keep them Star Wars related.
Matches between non-SW characters will be closed.
"

This is the rule for the matches, correct? Well... The threads that Ianus had made were all related to Star Wars. For example:

http://www.killermovies.com/forums/f86/t382248.html
http://www.killermovies.com/forums/f86/t382251.html
http://www.killermovies.com/forums/f86/t382396.html

^ Those above threads had relevant relation to Star Wars Characters. Ushgarak decided to close those threads.

Let me show you the next set of threads here:

Darth Maul Vs Wolverine. You didn't close that one.

Sorgo Vs Faunus. Hell, that's completely irrelevant and you never closed THAT one as well.

And then you gave Ianus a warning for an upcoming Ban.

What happened? Well, that warning was pushed aside and you proceeded with the ban.

Either you haven't seen these threads (Which is poor, because it is your job as a Mod to see them) or you have been selective with the Threads you have been closing and the punishment level you have been administering on Members.

It's funny: Sorgo VS Faunus is acceptable, but God help the Member who makes a thread involving a Moderator.

German is a cool language happy

Sorgo
Indeed it is.

cool blue14
so u hate ush anyway u can't do anything about it

Sorgo
I don't hate Ush.

Imaginary
Fighting corruption, yeah, whatever. Don't like the way this forum is run, you can leave. Thats just the way it works.

Sorgo
It doesn't work. It revolves in a cycle of Hypocrisy and Contradiction. Ianus was unfairly banned and it's clear.

If you don't like what i'm saying, you can leave the thread. THAT'S just the way it works.

No, I didn't mean it like that. I don't have a problem with what you're saying. Just that this KMC system, whether its corrupted or not, is the way it is and nothing any member can say is going to change that erm

Unfortunately for you, Ianus has not been banned by Ushgarak, nor has he been banned for the reason that you' re stating.

And if you have a concern about a decision made by a moderator, please contact him or her privately. If you can not resolve the issue privately, then you can bring your grievance to Raz.

Ianus was banned by Winddancer, but didn't Winddancer give Ianus a warning and then ban him?

Akward.

And the point still remains why Ush is playing favortism with open-closing threads around the SW EU and VS Forums.

It seems you only replied to one problem and left out the rest.

Why not?

This Forum is COMPLETELY changeable.

You can't stop people from waging Wars against each other and you cannot create World Peace.

But saying an On line Forum is unchangeable? Please.

It's likely it wont change, but I don't like spotting this kind of shit and I sure as hell don't like leaving it unnoticed.

I didn't say the forum was unchangeable, I said that the system was, meaning the rules and how they are enforced.

Ushgarak wasn't enforcing the rules properly. That's the point.

I think what Ush means by the only starwars related topics is versus between two starwars characters. but you're right, he didnt close some threads. you had better watch your back though, Sorgo. Ush may be offended and it's not good to have a mod. on you bad side...

Sorgo was simply pointing out the statistics, the facts. And you're telling him to "feck off" for that?

Ianus was issued a ban because he disregarded WindDancer' s warning. Awkward? No. Foolish? Yes.

Left out the rest? I never frequent the Star Wars section. Do you expect me to give account of Ushgarak' s actions when I' m not familiar with the daily state of affairs?

No, he' s telling him to feck off because of Sorgo' s signature which will, btw do it for him, just as it did with Ianus.

Rogue Jedi
let me be perfectly clear here.....i never cared much for Ush. he is a chronic know it all who will never admit when he is wrong. he comes off as a bit snooty, like he is better than everyone else here, but....

he is a moderator and there is nothing we can do about it. despite my differences with him, he is, in my opinion, a top notch moderator. for him to close a thread, he must have had a reason. he and i have rarely seen eye to eye on anything, but he has always been cordial to me, very professional.

in my opinion, Ushgarak is one of the best mods here. not my fave, but one of the best.

1.) Despite the use of an allusion, the gesture and intentions are still very clear.

2.) Not unless he's been told to shirk it first, then if he decides to go against and keep it. In that case, yes, it will do it for him. But simply banning him for it with no explanation or warning is obscene, and unfair.

Rogue Jedi
someone is gonna get banned here. you cant bash a mod and expect everything to be honky dorey.

Storm
He forfeited his rights when he put up that signature deliberately. This is inexcusable imo. Anyone referring to another person with this type of signature, moderator or member, will be issued a temporary ban without mercy.

DarkC

But it's justified and has a reason, even if it is only slightly. Sorgo has provided plenty of evidence for his protest. No, we don't expect everything to be honky-dory; all we want is that fairness be maintained.

Rogue Jedi
Sorgo is going about this the wrong way. he should pm Raz directly. i have done it before and Raz was always quick to fix the problem.

I suppose in this case, Sorgo felt the urge to bring Ush's injustices to public knowledge. I suppose that might have been a bit of a poor decision.

WindDancer
Oh wow!

Ushgarak is Adolph Hitler and I'm Joseph Stalin. roll eyes (sarcastic)

Lana
Holy hell.

In the SW VS forum it's supposed to be SW vs. SW ONLY. NOT SW vs. other stuff.

And how the hell do you expect for the mods to catch things if you don't report them?

For that matter, check the forum rules....

Yes, he was very naive to put that signature up.

But would it be fair, in your opinion, to at least have offered him the chance to take the signature off before he was banned? And if so, was that the case in this particular scenario?

Don't attack others. Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated. Challenge others' points of view and opinions, but do so respectfully and thoughtfully ... without insult and personal attack.

Sorgo here may have teetered that line that so divides challenge and personal attack towards Ushgarak regarding his posts. But has he crossed that line yet?

He wasn't ban just for because of the sig. Ianus had already disobeyed the rules of the forum. And what the hell? All he did was talk about Nazis! Ushgarak told him to knock it off!:

http://www.killermovies.com/forums/f86/t382396.html

Then he went on to call Ush a nazi. WTF? Does that seem fair to you?

His signature not only crossed it but flew way over it.

And I have seen him frequently attacking and bashing people in the SW forums.

it seems that dude didnt heed to Ush's warning. i would have banned him too. if there is one thing i have learned here its that you have to go by the rules. if you dont, then you will pay the price. Ush just happened to be the mod to take action.

I'm not so sure if he was under the knowledge how far against the rules he was doing by uploading that signature.

I still remain stubbornly under my own opinion that he should have been told to shirk the sig. Which has not yet been answered by either Storm or WD.

I know. But I checked out some of the links that Sorgo posted, and I think one of the things that the offender there did wrongly(and to his/her cost, too) was misinterpreting Ush's statement that it was only for SW characters only; he/she probably thought that Ush meant for it to be between at least one SW character.

Storm
Misinterpreting mechmoggy' s statement as it is mechmoggy who put up the rules.

Rogue Jedi
none of this matters. all that matters is that when a mod says to do something, you have to do it. as long as it is within reason.

OK, let me make something clear.

First of all, if you insult a mod for doing their job, don't expect to be here for much longer.

Second of all, if you disagree with a mods decision, try talking to them. If that gets you nowhere, then PM me!

Threads like these don't resolve matters, and usually just make it worse.
