It really looks that Superboy, Superman, and Alexis Luthor are going to be the vilians in this. They are hell bent on taking over, and are responsible for capturing J'onn and destroying the watch tower

It was just as great as 1 and 2. Johns is amazing. I was mainly glad to see the mystery of who blew up the Watchtower solved.

I can't wait to see Superman to throw it down with Kal-L. I absolutely love the idea of Pre-Crisis Superman to be the villain...the orginal hero, the one who basically was the first superhero ever...would be to villain of perhaps the biggest DC Saga since the original Crisis.

I want him to beat down current Supes like nothing! Show us some of that Pre-Crisis power!

January 18 and as good a twist as that would be, I would hate to see Kal-L turned into a villain. I would be happy to see him kick the crap out of Kal-El though.

On another note, it was pretty cool to see Lex wearing his Superfriends costume.

im sure he will be "villain out of necessity" he does want to save "his" universe after all you know, and if you remember anything about pre crsis supes you know that he has a more serious hard on for lois than, post crsis does {figuratviley speaking of course}...personally i just want both the Luthors to suffer some really incredible defeats, and im not talkin about that same lame ass PIS bullshit where he gets knocked down a drain or an abandoned building then you see his hand stick up out of the rubble, at the last panel either.. I mean like a serious beat down for all the world to see. cuz up until this point, by and large, the world doesnt know that he's a villain.... back in the day before he ran for presdent he managed to convince the whole world that it was a clone of his that committed all those crimes, and the public bought it! so who knows maybe this time around the same bullshit will happen again, after all whats superman without lex as an arch eenmy?

I'm pretty sure Alex and Superboy couldn't give a damn about Lois. E2 Superman is crazy about Power Girl too but they KO'd her like nothing. Once he gets wind of that he'll probably go bezerk.

However powerful E2Superman is, Kal El is going to rise to meet it. He's been beefing up every issue preparing for this for years now. People have told him repeately in the last few years that he has no limit to how far he can go. It's about time to see it.

Yep. I found that pretty strange. #3 was worth the wait, now it REALLY looks like all hell is going to break loose.

Yah it does look like Kal-L is being used by Alex and Superboy. Also seems like E2 might not have as much different as our the Earth now, maybe getting bsed by Alex he would open up his white and gray ideas about the world, things arent as easy to judge when its happening to HIM (kal-l) getting bsed.

I dont think Kal-L knows what Alex and Superboy are planning. But once he finds out the sh!t is gonna go down. it didn't affect him because it's not from HIS Krypton. no other mystical reason. There's no evidence that Magic won't work on him, in fact, I'm sure it would.. the problem isssssssss, magic is totally fux0red and basically useless.

glancing back i see the panel where the disguise is disrupted. not sure how i missed it first time 'round . . . they pack a LOT in those ic issues . . .

superboy will be one bad ass villain. alex doesn't seem too bad, either . . .

kal el is gonna have a bumpy ride coming up . . . i don't see kal-l surviving this time 'round. he'll be the dupe for a while, but ultimately i can't imagine they would let him go out a villain. he'll redeem himself by the end and our supes will then OFFICIALLY be 'the man'.

How much would you pay to watch: SUNDIPPED KAL-L vs. SUNDIPPED SUPERBOY PRIME & ALEX LUTHOR !!!

I don't think "Sundipped" Kal-L would be meaningful. As I recall, Earth-2's powers were derived from Krypton having an extremely harsh high-gravity environment. The whole "Red Sun/Yellow Sun" business came about in the Silver Age. In fact, references to such might be a good deliniating factor for soring out which 60's adventures shoul be considered -L or -El.

Red Sunlight has NO effect on Superboy Prime.
Green K shouldnt affect him either (since it didn't affect Kal-L)
Magic is screwed up, so it can't be used against him.

They are going to have a tough time with the boy if he can sundip...

Yeah, all Golden Age Kryptonians were "Supermen/women" but Kal-L did mention how the yellow sun felt good in IC#2. I'm guessing without the sun he's still as good as our Supes (breaking the dimensional barrier) but with it he's at his Pre-Crisis "I can hold planets in each hand" level.

the thing is superboy prime didnt even mention about a true sundip...like "Our worlds at war" sundip, he just meant going outside.....so imagine what would happen if he plunged into the sun. I have a theory....IDk you would have had to been keeping up with the whole leadup to get this reference, but the same way powergirl's power was on the fritz when she was in close proximity of kara zor-El, im thinking that its the same and only way our supes will be able to trimpuh over the E2 supes and SB prime....why i came to this conclusion?

becuase we've seen that alex luthor's presnce was shorting out our lex's intelligence and brainwave functions, cuz his theta waves were operating on a higher level...maybe its the same for the other two, but in my heart of hearts im hoping that it wont be the same becuase E2 is two old, and SB prime is too young, therefore their theta waves wont affect our supes......hopefully.

here is where my thoery comes in...I think that Alex and SB Prime are doing the majoirty of thier clandestine work without the knowledge of E2S...cuz he already told BAtman that he cant lie, therefore he cant be decietful, or deceptive, therfore he wouldnt have knowingly agreed to all this wanton killing that alex(in disguise as our luthor) has been embarking on, most notably the forming of the society, the human bomb and his little gang{which were close allys to the JSA), and Pariah, who is a singularly multiversal being, meaning only one of him exists.

it all adds up becuase our luthor was exiled in 2003 right? and then later that same year in teen titans we find out that Kon-el is a clone of Luthor and superman, so if you read between the lines you'll see that this is where alex luthor showed up, and quite likey it was his DNA and a mixture of either E2S, or SBP...especially for the reason that in Teen Titans vol 4. Luthor referred to conner as "my boy", and that was when he was heading the society in full force, and then we find out that he is actually Alex.....wheeew....you still following me? so even tho they put on a little show in IC#2 and showed them breaking out of the dimension..that just prbably meant that, they broke freee long b4 the lead up even began, cuz remeber they were looking at multple events and time lines simultaneously?

so here is where i think it will boil down..Kara zor-el is off planet so powergirls powers are safe...for now.. E2S is gonna own the shit outta everybody, and then Lois with her last dying breath is probably gonna try to appeal to him, and becuase SBP is still young and not fully mature, his lack of experience dealing with superpowered adults will be exploited...probably bruce is gonna find a way to appeal to him...but Alex is still gonna be a luthor to the end....well thats my hair brained thoery

I'll be actually a bit dissappointed if Alexander turns out to be a megalomaniac. He was from earth-3 where the Luthor's were heroes. Now he may just have come down with a serious case of crazy from spending all but a few days of his life in the crystal cave or wherever, but tha't different from the sort of evil that our Lex pumps out.

id be a little crazy too if i was sent in a rocket from a dying planet, artficially aged by the monitor, and not aged a day since then for the last twenty yrs. stuck in a crystal palace(tho a little epilogue shot from 1999, showed Earth two superman stuck in a city that looked like metorpolis)...and they were all like for years he thought it was a prison but now he's found a way out...then it shows him winking

I think the point is that a Luthor will always oppose Superman whether he be good or bad.

But his powers........... ARE AMAZING !!! Alex's that is !!

Maybe it's just me, but Superboy Prime sure does sound like a whiner. I'll be routing for our Superboy to show him a thing or two, especially the benefits of tactile telekinesis.

But in Lex's mind, he IS a good guy, even when opposing Superman. According to Luthor, and many other people through the entire multiverse, Superman is the threat that must be destroyed. Even after Our World's at War, he was on trial for influencing reality as a whole before the Quintessence. His influence is his greatest power, and what makes him truly unstoppable. But is it for good, or ill? As readers, we're inclined to side with our childhood hero and worldwide Idol, and he does seem genuinly concerned with saving people ALL the time, however things he does, even something as small as a moment in passing, seems to have the power to change lives completely, for better or worse in a completely unatural manner.

can't forget the casual insult to the face prime example batman............

we all know it...DC is just gonna let all the pre crsis ppl put on a good show, and own the shit outta everybody then just when you think, the fat lady is about to clear her throat, the under dogs are gonna pull off a win. so i think the writers owe us that much let us see pre crsis power unfold for at least two issues, then you can break out all the PIS you want after that and let them lose.

My local finaly got this in today and i wasn't dissapointed. Great issue.

Aquaman spearing King Shark through the chest was interesting, considering that King Shark will be a major supporting chracter to the new Aquaman staring with issue #40. The Atlantis/Spectre stuff didn't really match how it went down in Aquaman, but that doesn't bother me. Tempest referred to his son as a daughter again. Batman's interaction with Kal L was great. And the big reveal was done really well.

What do people think Alex Luthor and Superboy Prime's agenda is? Do you think it's really the return of Earth 2 or are they just using that to string Kal L along?

I'm really looking forward to Kal L vs. Kal El and Superboy vs. Superboy Prime. I really can't wait till i have all 7 issues in my hand.

Ok,this issue is VERY heavy in spoiler material so I may have to do this one in multi parts!
Ok first thing is group of Teen Titans Villians that have Monjour Mallah,Phobia,Warp and Madame Rouge(I cant remember the name of their group at the moment for some damn reason)drop Chemo onto Bludhaven that totally wipes out the city.
Then we cut to Alexander and Superboy Prime talking to Kara on the big crisis tunning fork thingy.Alexander starts going on about how he and his group are going to fix things in this universe.Then he tells her that he and Superboy have been coming to this universe for quite some time now.He says that with Superman being preoccupide with Lois's health the last few months it allowed he and Superboy to use his science and Superboys strength to escape their "heaven".First he sent Superboy to retreive the Anti-Monitors corpse,it would serve as the base for the machine,made upo of positive and negative matter.Then Alexander posed as this Earths Lex with a simple hologram.He gathered together the Society to and convinced them that the machine they where building would destroy their enimies minds.They also helped collect the individuals needed to power the machine.
