Whats Scanners, and Reanimators about?

Whats Scanners, and Reanimators about?

Re-Animator:
Herbert West is obsessed with the idea of bringing the dead back to life. Experimenting with a glowing green liquid fluid, he successfully reanimates dead tissue. Unfortunately, the dead are uncontrollable and difficult to subdue. Dr. Carl Hill, West's instructor, is determined to steal his secret and take all the credit for his discovery. Herbert isn't willing to give up so easily no matter what the consequences are! Stylishly directed by Stuart Gordon (From Beyond), this film adaptation of the short story "Herbert West: The Reanimator" is a non-stop gore fest filled with wit and humor.

Scanners:
Welcome to the world of Scanners--a race of humans with telekinetic powers that can wreak havoc beyond our most dreaded nightmare. Writer/director David Cronenberg (The Fly, Naked Lunch) brings the terror closer than ever before--he brings it right into your mind. Cronenberg is a modern-day horror master whose name fits easily with the likes of King, Craven and Carpenter...and Scanners, with its spectacular and shockingly realistic special effects, is a startling masterpiece of the genre. When a rogue Scanner of unparalleled power (Michael Ironside) wages a bloody war against the "normals," young empath Cameron Vale (Stephen Lack) is recruited to track him down. But Vale is inexperienced--and a battle with another Scanner could mean a grisly death...or worse. Can Vale vanquish his insanely violent, power-mad adversary? Only one thing is certain: Scanners "delivers chills-down-your spine, heart-in-your throat, you-can't-watch-but-don't-leave goods" (Time).

I forgot about The Burning, but I was under the impression that it may be a 70's movie, what with it starring a young, buff(ish) Jason Alexander and I think Holly Hunter is in it too., Think about how Jason looks in Seinfeld, which started in '89, and compare it to how he looks in The Burning. Surely it's a 70's movie.

"brain dead" better known as "dead alive" was released in 1992, so its not really an 80's movie. however it is a bad ass movie.

I had a newfound appreciation for Fright Night when I saw a screening of it last fall in theatres. It still plays well to a crowd.
