Is idiocy contagious?

It has come to my attention that some people are real idiots.
their stupidty amazes even me.
I mean i have idiot in my screen name but these people surpass me in their idiocy. If all the village idiot were gathered together and put into a village i would have to say i would be no where near being that village of idiot's villiage idiot.

It's human crowd behavior. Everybody starts life talking what others say. If everybody would sympathise for George Bush then a lot of people would actually get the same opinion with or without any logic or arguments.
What can I say? People are lazy and just try to fit in.
