Alright, i like Captain Marvel alot....and i think he's totally underrated on these forums. People say he's not as strong nor as fast as Superman and Wonder Woman.....but he has proven many times to be at least as strong and fast as Superman himself....every time they fight when they lock arms neither one of them wins....so i'd say their equal....

Unfortunately, i dont read alotta DC, but from what i have read, CM is a badass.....So i just made this thread for people to post scans of some feats of his...

I can only really think of 3 feats since i dont read DC, so can someone post the scans of:

-His fight against Supes from Kingdome Come.
-His fight against Supes from Superman/Batman #4
-His fight against Eclipso-Supes from Superman #216

Captain Marvel looks like a circus performer in my opinion. This doesn't mean that I'm here to fight like the Namor one-misunderstood. It's just my way to contribute. We shoud allow -and+ opinions and find out the truth. And even if the truth is the negative the character still possesses the right to exist and continue. Perhaps we all can come to a deal about improving the character in any way possible. This is an important part of my comment, if I am giving Mr. Marvel a chance why not you give me one in case you don't agree. Why I don't like this guy like superman? Because he is Superman with a different costume more like a version. I like to be honest and kind with you. I will appreciate any help possible. This is a kid here.

I will mention Spider-Man and how his costume is like that. First he has an aunt and can't afford being discovered (mask) he has the spider and the web representing the way of his powers. Red&Blue worked perfect for Superman as well for him and these colors are from nature. Marvel has a lightning plus a magician cape, boots, and a fabric belt-the reason for me to mention circus. Well, thanks for listening. Circus is not an insult and all those performers would like to be him.

I found a simple similarity with the fabric belt and the circus. I think we owe Alex Ross for bringing the Godly feeling out of his version of Captain Marvel - showing how magnificent he can look. I've had a liking for him since my childhood, watching the live-action show on Saturday mornings. He was the best-selling comic of the 1940's - all while being sued by Superman's owner's - because he had a wish fulfillment for children; Billy Batson was a boy who could change at will into a super-powered grownup.
His costume is still perfect of it's period and unique - Persian in inspiration, like a sorceror; the single-shoulder cape is inspired by pre-WWI nobility, and a sash instead of drawers/swim trunks. They could muss his hair a little; he was modeled after Fred MacMurray.
Yes, too bad Marvel didn't buy him decades ago - but what would it cost now? I think I would take him over some other Marvel hero, starts with an 'S', who...oh. Sentry.

There's nothing that can't be undone. Shazam could come back, Billy can return and be the new Shazam, and pass on the Marvel mantle to someone else - we'll see what DC has in mind.
He has stalemated Superman in feats of strength, so he is argubly stronger than Wonder Woman, yes.

why did teh bomb kill him could it kill an invunerable charecter if so can it kill superman???

I don't have a scanner. But Billy currently has Shazam's power and goes by Marvel Billy says that he is everything the Captain Marvel was and everything Shazam was infused with. CM jr. or Freddy he and Mary has lost all their powers and Freddy is going through trials to recover his back one by one and he will be the New Captain Marvel but will be called Shazam. This was said in Trials of Shazam issue 2.

Captain Marvel is one of my Favorite Characters. Big up to Alex Ross for doing him justice in Kingdome Come and Justice. I love the speed feat in Justice when Superman asked Captain Marvel to catch Flash implying that he couldn't but Captain Marvel can and Capt did just that. Wish I had a scanner to show this if anyone has this please do.

Kingdome Come isn't canon Just like Justice isn't. So Capt never died really so to answer you question he is Alive. The bomb killed Billy not Captain Marvel. He said Shazam 3 times while he was Captain Marvel so it was like billy, Captain Marvel, and back to Billy guess he didn't really think it through.

ankur29 WW isn't slow without her plane she has the speed of Hermes the god of speed IIRC and I think she is light speed since she entered the speedforce on her own power ( didn't read the book but saw scans). But like you I don't think she is as fast or strong as CM or Supes. Also like you said every thing that happened in Justice is in CM's power set to do.

Yep i couldnt agree with you more. My first introduction to cap was the early 70's live action show "SHAZAM!"

Unfortunatly in the world of DC comics, he is cursed with .....horrible writing. then alex ross came by and has elevated the Hero we know as captian marvel to superman levels again.


I have always like supes,thor but my favorite is and always will be cap, just tired of the bad writing he gets. The comics minus alex ross's description of him tend to be inconsistent of what he is capeable of doing.

Captian marvel has always been stronger then WW. Captian marvel has far exceede the strength of hercules along time ago. Yes it is. And that looks like the artwork of Dave Gibbons (WATCHMEN). So take it for what it is. It's possible Superman has faster reaction speed & reflexes, but I've always thought Captain Marvel could match him in flying speed.
