Photon did not beat Sentry... he just teleported him away b4 Sentry got into serious business. Sentry was said to be holding back.

Photon beat him. Sentry lost that fight. Battlefield remove is considered a win. As for Sentry holding back, it's funny that he would when Photon was partly responsible for the Avengers getting wrecked by the Thunderbolt. Photon himself was holding off Sentry and teleporting Cap into Ironman's beam.

so the writer needed a way for Photon to beat the sentry so he had sentry power up as he were Goku for half the issue while he' team was being handed it's ass. then when goku finally decides that he's going to stop talking and not hold back Photon teleports him away.

thats not really fighting and beating the sentry.

and when has the sentry ever needed to power up?

Sentry is not weaker than Photon........ not in a million millenias !!!

Anyway...........i dont know shit about SG !!
