Do you think that Niman, mastered to a very high degree, is a good form?

overlord
No, the concept just plain sucks.

exanda kane
I'll keep with a 'maybe' until I see some evidence that indicates either, though as Overlord says the whole concept seems pretty weak.

Council#13
I think that someone who masters Niman to the degree that Yoda mastered Ataru can be very powerful

Dark Aristokrat
Ah, no. Technically, you can't master Niman, because it's a compilation of several styles (But not all of them). To say you'd mastered Niman would mean you'd mastered every style but Makashi and Juoy/Vaapad.

chilled monkey
The problem with Niman is it's all quantity, not quality.

However, if it were completly useless, I doubt the Jedi would bother with it. Plus, it's the individual that fights, not the style.

So I suppose someone very skilled at Niman could be a match for someone less skilled at a different style. Overall though, it's not as effective as the others.

Dark Aristokrat
If it were useful, there would be exceptional practitioners of it. Oh wait... geonosis. Oops.

Apparently to Wikipedia, unreliable i know, Niman must be mastered in order to master the dual saber form...

Hmm..it does seem a bit weird.

Sorgo
Any Form that is mastered is extremely effective, I can imagine.

That is incorrect. WotC source books have called Form X: "Niman". The clueless moron who wrote that wikiarticle probably thought that the PT-era "Niman" or "Diplomat's Style" and "Niman, Dual Wielding" must be the same thing.

Just a thought anyway...

Niman trying to take a bit of everything isn't specialized (of course) and is probably limited in potential by that reasoning.

Makashi? Effective for it's basic concept? Not quite.

The first Form is the one that's effective for it's basic concept. The second Form is quite complex and expansive in it's maneuvers.

overlord
No, I didn't mean that it was a simple concept, I mean that the underlining thought of the style is specialised wich makes it effective to a degree.
A lightsaber style taking a bit of everything is inferior to the real lightsaber styles.

Niman sucks nuff said.

Agreed, it is called the diplomats form. And every user of niman died on Geonosis, obviously not very good

Unless you're good at Niman. stick out tongue
