Cannonball-Cannonball has the mutant ability to generate a "blast field," which he can use to propel himself and others at great heights and speeds with considerably maneuverability. While in his blast field, he is completely invulnerable to physical harm, allowing him like his namesake, to cause significant damage and destruction as kinetic projectile. He has also learned how to channel this energy into his ability to deliver powerful punches into objects. His power levels have varied over the years - but at his peak, he has been able to defeat Shi'ar Imperial Guardsman, Gladiator and devastate several city blocks by plummetting to the ground from high altitude

vs

Superman-Flight, invulnerability, super-strength, super-speed in running and flight, super-breath and lung capacity (including freeze breath), super-hearing, vision powers including x-ray vision, heat vision, telescopic vision and microscopic vision, as well as other sensory powers, and super-intellect

vs

Captain Marvel-Magically bestowed aspects of various mythological figures which includes vast super strength, invulnerability, super-speed, flight, fearlessness, and vast wisdom/enhanced mental perception.

cannonball wins. He does have the ability to absorb kinetic energy and that all that the other two dish out.

Well in this fight I was thinking that he already had his shield up. Why make a thread without the other person using his powers. Cannonball with his shield up would beat any one of these combatants. Lets put it like this, whatever superman or cap hits him with, he will send it back to them ten fold. He can put a shield over them and trap them. Put a shield over superman and since superman cant breath under water dip him in the water and let a lot in and drown the man of steal (even though its going to take some hours). Cannonball shield is indestructible, so once over superman he isnt breaking out of it. The best thing for cannonball to do is let them punch on him all day and absorb all the energy that he can and one hit both of them with there own power.

tell me how superman is beating cannonball. Give me a way that he can get past the fact that everything that he do to cannonball will be absorbed since cannonball absorbs kinetic energy. Dont say his punches because gladiator hit cannonball with a punch that was said to send him in the heart of the sun and stood there and absorbed the entire blow. Heat vision will get absorbed. Ice breath will make him stronger and also get absorbed and dont even have an effect on cannonball. What else is there for superman to do. Nothing. Do you know the definition of kinetic energy.

naaah because cannonball isnt marvel base character like superman and almost everything about superman is either pis or cis. Now some feats I can give him credit for but there some that makes you say mmmmmmmmm, how in the hell did he do that. If superman is written by dc he could beat the beyonder if there was a crossover, so you showing me his feats dont mean nothing. You can show me that feat where wonderwoman beat the hell out of him during the max lord saga and cut his throat with her tiara and claimed that she was holding back while superman was giving it his all.

1st thing when gladiator punched cannonball his confidence was up to the extreme, why would he need to lose confidence by punching cannonball. Cannonball took a punch that gladiator also used to crush a planet and just stood there and absorbed it. Cannonball can just simply absorb superman punches and send it back to him. Just that easy. You still didnt give me a way that superman can beat cannonball if everything that he does gets absorbed.

So basically all of Superman's good feats don't count but his low showings do? Interesting logic there.

Read a bio on glads, it tells you that the guy can move planets.

When i see superman use tvo again then I will consider that a win for supes but the guy never uses that ability. I think that the writer was smoking something when he granted him that ability but superman has lost that.

Clearly because this is what the DC Encyclopedia said.

Can't forget Brian Azzarello considering he's the definitive Superman writer of our time.

carver9
You do realize that in space your speed is jumped dramitacally due to the fact that space dont have gravity pulling you down. If you look at any speedster bio it will simply state that in space they travel faster. Every feat that you showed me, I kinda agreed with them due to the fact that this happened in space but on earth a different story. Ill be back with some examples.

Flash dies in space without help.

And the reason for the apparent boost is simply that heroes prefer not to destroy citys when they fly by. It's a choice not a limitation.

*Not even light can escape a black hole.

*A black hole's gravity is millions upon millions more powerful than Earth's.

*Superman escaped a double black hole...

Goes back to my previous point:

*Not even light can escape a blcak hole.

What you're telling me, is that Superman can escape a black hole's grasp, but he can't travel light speed?

Nevermind the fact, that he has to travel faster than light, in the black hole, to escape it, and he is fighting against it's pull.

That feat alone puts him above light speed without a question.

Unless of course, you have an example of something going to speed of sound (what Superman is supposedly on Earth), escaping a black hole... let alone a double black hole...

Is Earth supposed to limit his speed so much, that he goes slower on Earth than in a black hole?

Earth's atomsphere is nothing compared to the pull of a black hole.

Hell, even following your shoddy logic, Space>>>etc Earth, and yet, a black hole swallows up planets, space, time, light, matter, everything, etc.

I'm actually going to go and read that bio, to even see if it mentions this.

EDIT: I failed to see a mention of this anywhere...
I also fail to remember a time when Firelord had to, or tried to go fast on Earth, because I remember Surfer traveling just as fast on Earth.
