Got a question about an, I think, elvish word

I think I got it from LOTR but does anyone know what the word "Numari" means, I think I heard some elf say it
not sure tho

any help would be nice

I'm sorry, but I am not familiar with such word or place/name and neither could I find it in the elvish-english dictionary. is it possible that the word you heard could be different?

I'm not sure what it means, but, There is a book called the Tolkien COmpanion, which has diffrent odds and ends in it as well as some elvish words..... That's how I named to of my horse characters in one of my fics. (Harma and Alfirin)

I think the site is called the Encyclopedia of Middle-Earth or something....I dont remember the exact link (sorry sad ). I have it on my links page...will get it for you tommorow.

You might also try that Learn to speak elvish site...sorry again but the link escapes me at the moment.

also found that word: I misspelled it
it's namaarie and it means farwell, seein' that I know got the dvd I know where I got it from it's what galadrial says to frodo when they leave lothlorien.

I think it means "Farewell" but I could be wrong cuz it was spelled this way "Namaarie"
