No, never tip a Table guy, he might think you want sex. Seriously, don't tip him its not proper since thats his job. A waiter or waitress is okay but not a cable guy.

Nah, don't tip the cable guy...they get paid a good amount of money anyways. More than a waitress or waiter.

Yeah, but they work for tips and their performance is judged from a lot of things; their personality, spped and accuracy, all that. Cable guy: he fixes the cable, you pay him, he doesn't, you don't. Totally different.

It's not customary, but it does show your appreciation for his efforts. So long as he does a good job, why not? I wouldn't mind pissing away a couple of bucks to be a samaritan. I do it on World of Warcraft all the time!
