I don't think so... I think mine is in March or April otherwise they would have told us by now
dave123
Don't choose a language - I didn't, and I'm a success
bloodboys2blueb
what do you do?
dave123
Nothing
I'm in my 2nd year of A Levels, with an offer from Cambridge thumbsup
rickyduck
Do choose a language, choose french
bloodboys2blueb
Ok just now I finished filling in my sheet with my options an im takeing:
p.e, history, r.s, geog and short course welsh
dave123
Geog's easy with a bit of common sense, as is RS.
History might involve a bit of work, and PE is kinda easy so long as you know a bit of biology and can play to a half-decent standard
Scarecrow756
I chose History, Drama, French and Food Technology.
dave123
Food tech owns droolio
melinda_warren
i dont know what you get to choose from but i have a good idea what i wanna take. which includes....art, drama, rmt, re, history, and no language!
bloodboys2blueb
i was tied between german or r.s
but i like r.s beause....well i don't like religoun *too* much but i like mahatma gandhi and martin luther king
TheOnes2
I chose: French, Electronics, Business Studies and Drama
T.M
I did Geog, Electronics and Design Tech.
only GCSE I failed was D.T because I did no work for it, Me and my mates just talked all though the 2 years.
bloodboys2blueb
ha ha. but there is the one column that i did not like at all so i decided to do p.e because im preety good at it
T.M
If P.E was more football based I would have taken it but it was mostly Gymnastics based when I was picking mine.
melinda_warren
that sucks....
bloodboys2blueb
im preety good at gymnastics but the amount of times you can hit your crown jewals jumping over something is amazing
T.M

That was my thought
anyway I took Electronics instead and that was my favourite lesson in school.
bloodboys2blueb

dave123
At least you got your own toothbrush
mechmoggy

dave123

It's a load of stuff GCSE is mostly circuits. Ohms Law and stuff that you will do in Physics. my GCSE coursework was building a circuit. thats good fun
As Level.. you do basically the same theory through the year just more advanced. and the coursework for me was programming. A level was even more advanced and a few extra bits thrown in. and the coursework was again building a circuit.
It's really good I loved Electronics. Got a B for GCSE, and an A for A level.

unless you get enough UCAS points from as level (year 12) which is doubtful, yes you do have to do year 13.
dave123

But your best chances of getting in will be to go after you've done year 13
bloodboys2blueb
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS?AND WHAT ARE UCAS(stupid caps lock)
T.M
UCAS points are awarded for getting grades in A level's the higher the grade the higher the UCAS points. All university's that I know of will ask for a certain amount of UCAS points to get onto the course.
(you get some UCAS points for As level results but not much.)
dave123
1 AS = 1/2 A2
So a B st A2 = 100 UCAS points
B at AS = 50 UCAS points
T.M

Yeah I thought AS was half.
bloodboys2blueb
so will different courses at uni have need different UCAS points to get into. also am i allowed to take a different all together at uni that i do not take at comp
T.M
yeah some course's like Law, or English (when I was looking) for example will ask for more UCAS point.
bloodboys2blueb
what about if i wanted to take a different course completely that i di not do in comp but want to to do in uni
shaber
I decided this eight years ago.
T.M

Aa long as you have enough points to get into the uni course you want to do it doesn't matter what A levels you do.
bloodboys2blueb
oh right thnx. did you do uni
shaber
Actually it depends entirely on the course in question.
T.M

For a while.. I didn't like it.. for reason's I wont go into...
shaber
Some university departments demand that an applicant has done specific subjects at GCSE and A Level. Others don't. With art subjects it depends on how many applicants there are to each place. Otherwise it depends on what sort of grounding is needed to start the course.
bloodboys2blueb
have you done uni. my deadlines gone
