Piggle Humsy
I am so shaken up right now.... sweat
my heart is beating 100 miles and hour... my hands are shaking!
I look like this > shock
because about an hour ago my two dogs Hollie and Louis had a fight over a bowl of food and when we pulled them apart there was blood pouring out onto the floor...
then we realised it was coming out of my dog Hollie's arm.. fear
deep red thick blood literally pouring out!!!!
I went into freak out mode and starting screaming/crying/running about.. firefirefireph
luckily my dad knew what to do he made a make shift tourniquet using my hairband and a knife to stop the blood flow and put pressure on the wound.
this is the first time anything serious like this has ever happened to my dogs so I was panicking big time, I thought she was going to die.
my sister rang the operator and got a 24 hour vet nearby and we put her in the back of my dads van and i got in and kept the pressure in her arm and we rushed down there.
it looked like such a serious wound and was still bleeding quite a bit when we arrived but the vet said as the blood was clotting on it's own and seemed to be stopping she didn't want to do anything to it as it would just start pouring again. she said it was only muscle damage and that hollie seemed ok and she gave her some pain meds and put a collar on her to stop her licking it.
I am still shaking... we have to watch her overnight to make sure it doesn't start bleeding heavily again and then we need to take her back down there.
she managed to pull her wound open when we got home and we had to apply pressure again.
she's shaking and is in a bit of shock but she looks like she is going to be ok. at least the vet didn't seemed too worried about her.
she's got a cone on so she doesn't lick her leg...here she is:

sorry it's such a crap pic.. it distorted from loading it up and it wasn't great quality to start with
the arrow points to where her injury is... but you can't see it in that pic.
Poor little hollie girl.
or as I'm calling her at the moment "little cone head"
