mace=badass vs. Barker

Judge: Moi, H. S. 6

Render: Smack!

Criteria: Max Size - 450*150
Max KB - 50 kb
Any color scheme, doesn't matter to me, but it must have at least one quote.

Deadline: 48 hours from the making of this thread, so about 8:10 PM US Eastern Time, Saturday evening

I use to save it, and then you can find the file, right click it, and go to "Properties." It'll tell you the KB size.

Or, if you use Photoshop, choose "Save for Web..." and then adjust the quality until you get it right.

Meh. I guess that the ripple effect made sense becasue of the surfer thing. On the bottom left you can see his face outlined.

Naw, I was going to use a different render, but put the require on in in about 50x50 px.

Unfortunatly, the Render I chose was also too Silver.

That's where there's a lovely thing known as gradients.

I turned the Silver Surfer Purple, meaning Purple is better than Silver..

I wasn't working with it. I just needed an image open so I could open the Adjustments button.

Indeed it is, but Vista will be pretty close to it since Micro$oft stole all of Vista's ideas from Mac OS.

Are you downloading from themexp?

If so, only download those that don't have a red asterik next to the title. The ones with them are wrapped with advertisements in the download.

Kinda Blows that Sacuce only comes on once a Year.

Okay, after careful deliberation...

Mace=Badass -

Cool ripple effect as a background/border. I liked the quote. The simplicity worked well with the render (no color ). However, the text could have used some work, and the "M" was half cut off.

Barker -

Awesome background, and great use of colors with a colorless render. The background was cool, looked like granite almost. I liked the way you made your text (Gradient?), however, the "Purple is greater than Silver" thing threw me off a bit.


Overall, both were cool entries, and very different. I'll have to give this one to Barker, though. His background matched the render better, and his text was very well crafted (What?). Mace=badass, your entry was good, nice and simple, but the text could have been jazzed a bit. Perhaps maybe a new font?



So congratulations to both of you, but Barker wins it!
