I just went to my local shop to by the paper to get this (I have been in work all day) and they didn't have it there
I am so pissed off now.
Nevermind
Why are they giving it away?
MildPossession
A lot of newspapers here in the UK give away single dvds for free, doing it a lot lately.

If they're doing this there has to be some sort of profit involved. I wonder how that works?

I'm guessing the people make the papers pay the people who make the movie. The number of people who buy probably the biggest newspaper in Britain will get the paper their money back. The paper that had Donnie Darko in it cost about £1.30... About 60million people lived in Britain according to the last census (2001). Most of these people are aged from 25 - 60... who are most likely to be the people who buy the papers... This would be about £78million for the papers..
(FYI I don't know if this is true the numbers are but I am just guessing the rest

)
