Mindship
In DC and in Marvel, who are the top 3 fighters in the sky and why?

King_Mungi
Strength wise or various abilities wise?

Mindship
Strength-wise, most will likely say Superman (eg) for DC cuz he's so overwhelmingly powerful. But I'm also looking for quality flying, like maneuverability, naturalness and taking tactical advantage. I guess I'm thinking a "pound for pound" kinda thing.

stormfront13
captain America said that warbird had some of the best aerial maneuverability he's ever seen.

Marcus4600
Iron Man and War Machine are up there for Marvel, along with Namor.

King_Mungi
Aurora for Marvel, girl's a beast.

^ RIP Alpha Flight. Sucks they're gone.

From what I've heard, Sentry is good too.

The Ion
Green Lantern

A good deal of training on Oa involves aerial combat. Look at Hal Vs Sinestro in Rebirth. Good stuff.

Mindship
I would think Surfer would be tops in Marvel. He is almost always airborn, or even starborn, even when fighting. I've seen scans of him showing sharp-angle maneuverability (probably in the SS Respect thread), and his brute power/sheer linear speed is unmatched.

What about Hawkman/girl in DC? Where would they rank in the pantheon?

DC Candidates:

Superman
GLs
Wonder Woman

Marvel Candidates:

Silver Surfer
Spider-Man (if he counts)
Sentry
