When people say quitters are losers...is that really true? Aren't we suppose to also accept defeat? Do you agree that a quitter is a loser or a person who knows that there is no point in going on?

Quitters are not losers. If you try hard, but don't succeed, and give up because you know you are not capable of reaching your goal, you are not a loser. These people who give up on something without even trying to reach it, are losers.

Depends on the context. Quitting can be a positive act.

True. Quitting smoking, or drinking would be a positive.

If I want to climb a mountain, but I don't get to the top, and give up because it is just too hard, haven't I tried to climb the mountain?

soleran30
no you have climbed the mountain! You just didn't reach the top. If you tried to climb the mountain you would never have made it to where you got you would still be at the bottom of the mountain tryingsmile

Trying is akin to hope and neither take action.

Oh, I get you now. You make perfect sense. smile

Depends on the reason for quiting... If you have goal and don't achieve it, I believe it comes into 2 categories of failure...
Either you didn't try hard enough(this also includes people being better then you cause they tried harder..), or You could never achieve that goal in the first place as you didn't have the necessary body...

Example... a tall man will never be a good jockey, as small people weigh less.. HUGE advantage... But a small person would be disadvantaged at basket ball....

But someone who is on par with you beating you cause they simply tried/trainned/wanted it more... Then your a quitter...

But don't really buy into the whole feeling bad about being a quitter though... I've quit at things... I've got to a level I was happy at and quit, I didn't want to be the best!

There's nothing wrong with knowing your own human limits and accepting them.
