Hey everyone i need a list of all the Batman graphic novels that involve the joker and are a good read ?
Sorry if this question has been asked before but i couldnt find it lol.
Etrigan
Killing Joke (for sure. It actually focuses of him more than Batman)
Dark Knight Returns (he makes a vicious portrayal there)
Hush (gets the crap beaten out of him in a great sequence)
Arkham Asylum (there he's just scary)
Long Halloween (unless you dont like him with about 80 nine-inch long teeth by Tim Sale)
They are the best performances by him, IMO.
Doc Ock
The Man who laughs is great too.
Etrigan
Which one is that? Never heard of it.
Metallikid
Im currently reading The Man Whole Laughs and its excellent

.
Im just a very big Joker fan and i want to read as much of his stuff as possible.

Try Knightfall. That was great.Joker teams up with Scarecrow in that to terrorize the city using the mayor.
Etrigan
I didn't like his performance in Knightfall, actually. Not disturbing enough.
Knightfall93
He's AWESOME in Knightfall but not great in ADITF. But I think there's one that focuses on Joker tracking down a lkiller for some reason... and I hear Devil's advocate is v.good, Batman has to prove Joker's innocence to save him from the elctric chair!!!
Etrigan
Yeah, I enjoyed Devil's Advocate... though I got a bit bored of it at the end.
Even so, a good read and Joker was perfect in it.
Knightfall93
Cool... if you want him to be REAL:LY disturbiing, Dark Knight Returns is your besty bet
Deicide
try the Batman Murders. the joker kills people and puts them in batsuits. its been about 11 years since ive read it so i couldnt tell u anymore that that. but i do know its worth the read.
Deicide
its a mystery thriller written by Craig Shaw Gardner. i do remember that.
"A banker, missing for months, finally turns up dead--wearing the unique costume of the Caped Crusader. Three other prominent Gotham City citizens are also missing, and the only clue to their abductor's plot is a calling card--a joker with a bullet hole through it. It's only the beginning of the ultimate prankster's devastating new scheme to destroy the real Batman, even if he's got to spill the blood of everyone in Gotham City to do it. If the Joker succeeds, it will be his greatest gag of all time. But only one very twisted and very dangerous man will be laughing..."
there, I looked it up and found an excerpt. now check it out

Knightfall93
That sounds very cool... is it in TPB?

Batman: It's Joker Time is a pretty good read. It's not a novel, but at 3 comics totaling around 50 pages each, it can add up to quite a read. It basically deals with Joker becoming a TV sensation, (don't ask how, it's complicated and you'll have to read it), and he eventually gets his own TV show, where for a few moments he dwells on some possible pasts. A very interesting look into his warped childhood and relationship with his mother too, if in fact it's true. The comics are also a critical look at how the media can make celebrities out of even the worst of people, and how America seems to have an unsatiable hunger for more.

JOKER HAS NO OFFICIAL ORIGIN DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!

True, but I had mentioned that they were possible pasts. Artists and writers have the limited freedom to interpret possible origins all the time. It doesn't have to be official, but at least it can be an interesting story. Such is the case with Wolverine, who for years had comic book writers and artists toying with his origin.

Joker: Last Laugh ....great in my opinion.
Deicide
I dont think The Batman Murders is in TPB form. its just a novel. it would be kool if it was tho.
Knightfall93

What's the storyline for it??

Batman: Shadow of the Bat #37 and #38 are also a good read. In #37 the joker's gang begins kidnapping specific individuals in Gotham. A vigilante named Wild, whose loved ones were personally killed by the Joker, goes after the Joker on an almost suicide run. And Batman tries to stop the kidnappings as they happen again and again. Interesting look too into Joker's profile through the files of Dr. Jeremiah Arkham too. And throughout the whole first comic Joker never even appears in it.
In #38, it is finally revealed that the kidnapped victims are specific people who viciously laughed at the Joker when he was just an ordinary man trying to make a failed living as a comic. In flashbacks he remembers their taunting, and in a present scene is shown to be actually very distraught over them, before he snaps back to his insane reality and begins killing them one by one. And of course eventually Batman saves the day. Very good two-part story.

I'm not really a fan of SoB, it's a bit weird...
Metallikid
Thanks for the help everyone one. Im gonna go look for these as soon as i can

Knightfall93
You really love Mr J, don't you?
Metallikid
lol yup i do.
I bought Arkham Asylum today. Cant wait to read it, it looks really creepy lol

Knightfall93
Batman Legends just printed Part 1 of 2 of The MAn Who Laughs and that's a FANTASTIC Joker oruigin., it's the same artist from Yr1 and that dude rocks!
Metallikid
Yea i buy batman ledgends too. I have to say that story is great. I cant wait for part two to arrive lol.
Im actually really enjoying War Games too even tho its a bit long like lol
Knightfall93
I already have the War Games and War Drums TPBs and I also have yr1 and the death in the family TPBs so it's the 1st issue of Legeds I've bought since way back at Issue 11 with Hush and I didnt read that either as I didnt want to spoil it for getting the GN, though I havent got round to buying that yet! Apparently Joker is gd in Hush...
Etrigan
He is pretty good in Hush, yeah, but doesn't appear for that long. He has some good lines as Batman beats his face to a pulp, and that's kind of it. Oh, and he wears a "I Killed Robin and All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt" T-shirt, which I found cool.
Knightfall93
Really? That's classic!
Knightfall93
Oh my good... I just realised it's a rip off from Monkey Island 1 (The Secret of...). when you beat the Mellee Island sword master you get a "I beat the sword master and all I got was a lousy T-Shirt" on eand when you find the Mellee treasure you get "I found the treasure of melee island and all i got was a lusy t-shirt" T-shirt! LMAO
Deicide
so...has anyone checked out that Batman Murders book yet??
