I use GIMP 2.0 er whatever the newest version is. lol.
If you don' tknow what it is, it's similar to photoshop but is a free net download and is set up only slightly different.

lol. Nope, it wasn't quite what he wanted, I ended up putting it up here because the right side of that pic, under the text, I had to use the pain function in order to get that part there because the pic didn't cover the entire banner. lol. Glad to know you like it though.

What graphics program are you using to create your sigs DIV? I'd like to show you a sig I made on the spur of the moment. It's nothing too special. I was just experimenting last night.

That is an awesome sig Stoic, and I use GIMP 2.0 it's almost exactly like photoshop, except i can't use photoshop, it annoys me for some reason. lol

and just so everyone knows, I got all this off Planet Renders, and these sigs with tempus, willow, and jessica are made to represent characters being used in an rp elsewhere, i just made this because i'm sick at the moment with nothing to do. lol

So Photoshop gives you the willies huh? I don't blame you, the program can be very tedious at times.

and ya, i tried photoshop once, its set up is very similar to GIMP, and some say the programs are practically the same, i mean, it looks easier to use, but i just prefer gimp.

sig for another rp character, and no, i don't know what the renders are actually from, i got them from planet renders as usual, its where I get most of my stuff.

I have to find a way to make a multi-textured background using Photoshop, how are you getting your transparency, I mean I see a drop shadow, and a matte underneath. In the Graphics program that you use, does it give you the option to rasterize your text?

The Lens flare kills it unless you were going to animate it ove five or more frames. I like the Sig though. Not bad.Hey. and I thought that you should have tied Digi in that contest... there should be 3 judges so that it is fair.

meh. it was fair, i just didn't quite understand the idea that i didn't have enough background, i actually had quite a bit. maybe the other five layers covered it up too much....

oh well, i learned a lot, that's what counts. I used to always do one layer sigs, maybe two. But after doing that one, I do at least three or four now that I know more about how to use them.

'fraid the text didn't show up as well here as when i was making it, it says...

"Hidden Fears
Unshed Tears
Heavy Burdens...
... hidden within the folds of a cloak"

or something like that.

If you lightened the text, or better, used a lighting effect, it would be perfect. Just a tip.

lighting effect wouldn't work with this sig, the point is the render, that would be just a distractions. As far as lightening the text, i probably could, I'm just afraid to take the focus off the point of the sig.

Well, the thing about lighting effect with GIMP is that it can set a mood better, and put emphasis on light or dark. If you put a white supernova or flare there, it may work. Or just a small light source.

I may come up with something later, maybe using a black supernova, but i'm hesitant to use those when the sig is supposed to be dark.

Took a bit of Thunderstrike's advice, added a new render, and played around with the text. Definitely came out as one of my best sigs yet.

2 tips:
Fiddle around with the cloud render. Since you told me you don't like your sigs "busy" it's simple and looks nice.
The artistic effects would be good for your style as well. Take a day or so sometime and just mess with them.

*sigh* I'm considering givin up sigs.... hardly anyone looks at them... and i don't seem to be any good at them anyway....

You're good at what you do. The thing is that most people want a bit more flare. Like I said, fiddle with the backgrounds and artistic effects. You may like what you find.

Well, I'm judging a sig duel with this render... and stole my own render. lol. It's probably bad though that since I've never played city of heroes i have no idea who this is....

but i am planning to use this myself later. lol. Once that duel is over so they don't steal my ideas.

I haven't played the game either, but I like sig. You chose the colours well, making it almost completely blue gives it a nice theme.

I get them everywhere. lol. I just googled for free fonts and downloaded whatever looked cool. lol.

Bad thing is, i got a new laptop, so now I have to redownload all my renders, fonts, painbrushes, everything. But ya, I get my fonts from random sites, and my brushes from deviantart.
