Firstly, I think Marvel has compelling and great stories. They just don't go insane and make it line-wide all the time.
1) I would try and take out Dr. Strange first. Unqauntified and unidentifiable power. Too many unknown variables to allow him to continue operating freely. Then Xavier or Richards and T'Challa, Namor, Stark and Black Bolt in that order.
2) To form my own group to combat the resources and powers ot he Illuminati?
Namor<Llyron--Llyron controls the At'La'Tique and has certain factions of Atlanteans and Lemurians loyal to him. Very powerful physically and in resources.
Tony Stark<Mandarin/Temugin--if the original Mandy is revealed to still be kicking around, I'd choose him. Stuff like the Dragon of Heaven would make the Illuminati shit their pants.
Mr Fantastic<Wizard--The Wizard already has a madon against Richards and is a rival genius. Combine that with his teammates resources, it would be devestating.
Black Bolt<Perhaps the obvious would work best, a stable Maximus the Mad, or maybe oddly Priest Lord Ghaur to represent the Deviants--another powerful offshoot of humanity.
Dr. Strange<Baron Mordo, any of Strange's other foes would be too supernatural and not play along.
Professor Xavier<Exodus. Magneto's out of the game for now, and is just too hackneyed to use anyways and I don't think Cassandra Nova would work, especially given that she's tied up with the Hellfire Club at the moment.
Black Panther<Killmonger, especially if he can break apart the Panther Clan and perhaps get Man-Ape's tribe on his side.
3) No, I'd rather live with some marginal threat of danger and be free and able to speak my mind and enjoy our civil liberties as they are than not.

Scarlet Spider, I agree marvel doesn't go ass to the wind out all of the time. Dc is sooo convoluted in my opinion. I aways thought Marvrel was more "realistic" in it's stories.
As far as who i'd take out early? I went with the good Proffesor. Although i fully understand anout Strange. I think if u cripple their communication (telepath) first as well as take out chief mental manipulator it may make it somewhat easier to plot against the rest. Strange and Fantastic are next in my opinion. Not counting out Stark but if u get the big Brain (Richards) out of the running, it may shake things up in their hirearchy.
I'm quit interested in the roles of the loner's Hulk, Spiderman, Daredevil and Wolverine. I'm sure each of the Illuminati have influence with those respective heroes like Proffesor X and Richards but it could make for interesting clashes of influence. You think the FF and X-men will follow their leaders?
ScarletSpider
I'm not sure if their respective teams will follow the leaders; I think we'd need to know more about the Illuminati and their agenda. Obviously they set stuff up and control the behind the scenes action, but we still need details. Not only would you have the FF and X-Men, but some of the Avengers closer to Stark some of the Defenders--the Hulk and Silver Surfer are off world but Nighthawk, Hellcat, Valkyrie, Starlight, Black Knight, etc. as well Inhuman and Atlantean forces and possibly Wakandan forces too.
Were they used more often, I'd love to see the New Invaders tackle the Illuminati as they had comparable resources.

I picked it up today and think what they did to Hulk is f**ked up. Im GLAD Namor stood up for him of all people. I was surprised when Strange didnt back Namor considering they are part of the most powerful group in Marvel(imo). Marvel has finally come up with something that im really looking forward to. I cant wait till May.

May Will be a most interesting month jrodslam !
It would seem kinda one sided if their respective team mates were to followe their lead. Thats alot of firepower on their side, however there is much potential for good stories if the teams were split in their decision. I think The Human Torch for one may side aginst Reed on this one. That in turn could create some turmoil with th FF. Wolverine....well he's wolverine, theProf knows that.
I agree They did Hulk something aweful sending him into space! But what can u say....they're the Illuminati !
ScarletSpider
Namor rocked the shit out of Stark. It was awesome.
DarkCrawler
Aye. Just check my sig.

I wonder if Strange will come to realize that sending Hulk into Space was a bad idea. He seemed very upset about the registration act. I wonder if he'll contact Namor and try to go find Hulk. It would be a sight to see if they declare "Order" on the world with added new recruits ofcourse.
ScarletSpider
Nice one, Dark Crawler.
Too bad Maleev can't draw Namor. His head's bizarrely misshapen and the widow's peak is atrocious.
DarkCrawler
Yeah. He is great on Daredevil, though...best DD artist ever. And I think he draws great Iron Man.

That would be uber.
Banner is one of the closest friends of Strange, like seen in the end of new Defenders series. And Namor is too.
And since Silver Surfer is going to be on Planet Hulk...
I DO sense the orginal Defenders returning...once again.
Damn, I wish they would make an ongoing Defenders series.
Without characters like Hellcat or Nighthawk. They just ruined it for me on the classic series. Just the Big 4.

I agree DC. Youd think theyd show the most powerful group some respect. The mini was very dissapointing.
BRINK BACK THE ORDER DAMMIT!!!
DarkCrawler
They better do!
GreatMuta
Namor now has my respect!!
