Who is Superboy Prime gonna maul now?

One more day left spoilers should be coming out soon.

The group of heroes formed last issue by Batman and Booster Gold go into space to take on Brother Eye. The new Blue Beetle disrupts its vibrational frequency and forces the satellite to appear in space. They are then attacked by OMACs.

Kal-L comes to his senses just as Alexander Luthor starts cramming Earths together to find the perfect one. Cue beautiful George Perez spread in which he draws a slew of alternate worlds, with alternate characters.

The magic characters organize to summon the Spectre. There's a nice cameo by Klarion the Witch Boy, and Stanley and his monster (from Kevin Smith's Quiver arc). The Spectre is summoned, bound to Crispus Allen, but randomly attacks and kills the Star Sapphire for being a sinner. He then disappears.

Wonder Girl meets up with Nightwing and Superboy at the North Pole to take on Luthor. That fight scene begins.

Back up on the Brother Eye satellite, Mr. Terrific takes advantage of his abilities to surpass surveillance to sneak into a secret hatch unnoticed.

Alexander Luthor almost merges Earth-2 and Earth-3 together (with Wonder Woman and both Supermans still on the former), but is disrupted by the other space heroes (Donna Troy and company). He is then attacked by the heroes that he bound to the vibrational tower, who have been freed by Nightwing (Power Girl, Martian Manhunter, etc). Black Adam kills the Psycho Pirate. He is then ****-slapped back to Earth-S by Superboy Prime, whose new Anti-Monitor armor gives him sunlight. He mentions that he was kept under red sunlight by the Flashes for years (more on that later). Martian Manhunter then gets in a fight with SB-P.

Batman then disrupts Brother Eye's orbit, deactivating all of the OMACs. It looks as if Brother Eye is going to trap him in the satellite, but Hal rescues him at the last minute. They then head for the former Fortress of Solitude.

Superboy then attacks Superboy-Prime. They get in a fight, and fly into the giant vibrational tower, which explodes, with all of the continuity shards reforming into an Earth that is simply titled "New Earth."

On New Earth, Wonder Girl pushes aside the wreckage of the vibrational tower to find Superboy's bruised body. Cue emotional scene. Cue Superboy's death.

So, basically, the Anti-Monitor armor just provides him with yellow sunlight.

He's not affected by magic either. Black Adam's punches felt like "being tickled".

No, their powers are pretty much innate. In the case of Captain Marvel, he'll likely become more powerful.

Thanks, it's too bad that Jim Lee didn't sketch the whole thing, or at least half of the issues... I mean that price tag is a killer when you think about adding other titles to your collection. Unless of course someone hates Jim Lee as an artist. In which case it's a win win situation.

Maybe Jim Lee should think about getting All Star Batman back on schedule. That series launched in July 2005, it's April '06 and we have 3 issues.

the thing i dont get is why its only seven issues right? it should be a maxi series with like 12 issues i mean what are they gonna jumble into that one mini series i mean we still need to know what alexander luthor is doing.

I find it funny that the flashes kept SBP under a red sun. I guess that they don't know he isn't affected by it.

Then again, maybe without yellow sun, they figured he would weaken over the years. I had no idea the kid was smart himself to build himself a yellow sunlight suit.

It sucks that they killed off Superboy (Post crisis)... I was really enjoying his development. I agree with another poster...why not Supergirl? I wonder if he'll stay dead knowing DC.

Supergirl should have died, she basically is just in the comics for the sex appeal while SB is a good character!

but there was a couple things i didnt like about it, i didn't like how they
portrayed nightwing, made him look like a weakling if you ask me, he coulda did more, like get some shots on on luthor and take a few punches from SBP, or outsmart him, shit..something, anything.........i agree with everyone on conner, i liked him too..good charactor, but if they bring him back (and you know they will sooner or later) that will only cheapen his death on the IC series...if there gonna bring him back than they shoulda have never of killed him off to begin with

The preview for #7 says its the showdown with SBP so he's still alive. They've hinted before he would survive the Crisis and be a semi-regular villain.

That was Jason Todd.

I noticed that nothing was mention about Flash who appeared in IC # 5 , so I assuming we will find which Flash that was in IC #7. Or did I miss something.

YEah that was weird because he was there with superboy then hes not even in it next issue.

Its another way to keep us wanting more...I just hope they explain it in IC # 7 and not make us wait till the new Flash series. Also what happened with the JOker we see him once back in IC # 2 and thats it....

I think it's pretty much a given that Bart will be The Flash. The sketches from the new series make The Flash look like a fairly young adult, I'd guess around 18-21. Superboy was held for years in the speedforce so that rules out Wally because he'd be in his mid thirties. There's only going to be one Flash so that rules out Wally's twins. Nobody else is left.

You might be right, but they also said dont get use to this first Flash he might not stick around. (of course they can be red herring).

All we can do is wait and see. I was never a big DC fan, but this whole series has me hooked...

well. the twins were a boy and a girl so there is a small chance it could be Wally Jr...but like you said, its most likely to be Bart

I was talking about Conner, why kill him, than make a statue of him, and then bring him back..if they're bringin him back it kinda makes the stature pointless, "statues are for Generals and Gods" or deceased superheroes, keyword "deceased" not revived.....they just shoulda kept him alive, put him in a coma or something, it cheapens his death and his sacrifice when they bring him back, espicially when if they are already bringing him back so fast

If and likely when Robin is successful with his clone attempt, could we really even call him the same character?

I was thinking along the same line. Will Robin clone his memories up to that last minute...even so, will he have the same soul?

When they tried to clone Superman, we got this Superboy...so at least it should be an interesting read. Reign of the Superboys?

If SBP prime sticks around, I'd like to see him team up with Cyborg Supes...THAT would be a hell of a scary team up.

how could they keep him? he's wayyy too uber they wouldn't be able to do a thing to him. Black Adam bloodlusted using magic fists couldn't even hurt him what Supes or WW or Bats possibly could they do to defeat him. What could any hero do to defeat him?

Zatanna gave me quite a scare with Spectre. F*ck Final Fantasy. Spectre is the ultimate summons. Anyways, when he killed Star Sapphire, i though he was gonna punish Zatanna as well for mindwiping heroes and villains. Whew. That was close.

PS. Loved the issue.

well I saw some art where he was fighting Guy...but my main question is WHY does he have such an adverse reaction to the suit? why do the rings respond more than normal??....guess we'll just have to find out...

Anybody notice Alexander breaking the 4th wall? His search for Earth Prime ends with him looking at the reader and reaching out for us, acknowledging that Earth Prime is still the real world.

Guess that means SBP is our Superman.

I am confused about who the batman(s) are. In the end shot, we see the trinity looking down and mourning their lost comrade, but batman is also being carried off by Hal to the fortress in a panel before. Which batman is which>?

This issue was way better than last one. I knew somehow or someway Jonah Hex was going appear in the IC. It was great to see Green Lantern coming to help Batman. Those two have been having their differences in the past. They proven team work is important.

The ending was huge blow for me. I really REALLY detest and hate Superboy Prime. All these Dc Comics writters are really weak. They have kill one caracther to make another one a real badass.....that's just lame. They did it in the first issue and they keep doing again. Hey lame brains at DC! I dare you to make a good story without killing a character! Yeah! I dare you!

looking forward to the grand finale.

the issue was VERY cool. connor may have died, but he gave a great account of himself before he went. damn -- he bloodied the boy! that's a lot more than the others did. i hope it comes out sometime soon about just HOW the boy escaped. something more substantial than just "i always find a way out," would be nice.

a couple questions -- could someone fill in for me some of the MOST necessary of the xover issues? which books -- besides the mini -- are MUST haves? i'ne picked up a couple of the superman titles and the secret files. those helped clear a couple things up. what else is a must read?

and second: what is CURRENT lex been up to? i've been sort of disappointed by his role in things. i'd hoped he would have a bit of a rivalry with alex, but i've barely seen him.

The OMAC Projeect is a great read, especiallyt if you like Batman or Blue Beetle or if you hate Blue Beetle, you'll love it too...

Current Blue Beetle seems powerful as hell.
