In any case, ROTJ Luke sucks big dick in the grand scheme. Vader took a big, hard dive and was emotionally conflicted the entire fight.

You should probably quote it and provide clear context. I can remember a Lucas quote explaining why everyone sucks ass in lightsaber combat in the OT - because the only ones swinging glowsticks were either crippled, old, or pretty damned untrained.

Jerec thrown the stones, which Luke pushed away. Then Jerec wanted to kill him by Force Lightning, Luke blocked them by using a Force. In lightsaber duel Luke was a winner.
