Since the mutants are humans as well, then when they impregnate a woman or if a woman mutant gets impregnated, then their kids will have superpowers & so on & so on. Therefore superpowers will always be in a mutant's family.

A mutant can have human kids....Just as much as a human can have a mutant for a kid.
