Namor is considered by many to be the first mutant of the Marvel universe, DC also has its first mutant in Captain Comet. Both have different powers but both very powerful compared to many mutants. no prep

He means that they were the first mutants created by the companies, not the first storyline wise. Besides, Apocolypse isn't even the oldest mutant.
