I know nothing of The Smiths' music but do you really think their "best of" stuff is needed? I mean isn't just material from previous releases?

It makes more sense.

I'm still waiting for you to show why he was relevant here.

That said, you want me to "piss off" and take him with me because you don't like him. So if I said "piss off" because I don't like you whoring out bands...that'd leave us in a dilly of a pickle wouldn't it? A right ding-dang-doodly of a pickle.

We both have a right to be here, so let's (you) stop the "piss off" ing.

-AC Read the thread you bozo. And I said take Tom with you, because I know you like him. I thought that a smart continuation from our discussion in the music thread. I'll try not to be so smart in the future.

Alpha Centauri
Nothing, Bardock. I just believe there's a very discernable line between passive recommendation and spoonfeeding.

It's not a continuation of discussion, it's an obscure reference to a bit of a discussion we had a while ago that barely lasted a page. Hardly something I remember, hardly something at all relevant. Besides, I made a general comment that you chose to reply to.

Why would I take Tom Morello with me anyway? He's not in the thread. Not quite thought this one through have you, sunshine?

Still, to whoever started the thread: Well done for actually buying your music. I commend you greatly for that. Although it's sad that it's become an accolade and not the default; to buy music.

Programs which mean the makers of the music don't get money.

There are ones you can pay for.

It's not so much downloading I have a problem with, besides morally (which is subjective). It's the illegal downloading and not paying.

I prefer to own the CD and the artwork, but as long as you pay for it...I don't really care.

I did use to rent CD's and copy them.Which isn't illegal in my country as long as you don't sell them. But I stopped doing that a while ago...

Technology is advancing in magnificent ways for music, but with that comes the punch of illegality. It happened with home video too.

Not to say we have to accept it, but just accept that it will exist. It's a shame.

I like the older stores that have the latest music but still have that old musty atmosphere, with old hard to find classics and vinyls.

I guess anything goes then.
Ok, some classics:

Licence to Ill - Beastie Boys
Master of Puppets - Metallica
Raising Hell - Run DMC
Appetite for Destruction - Guns n' Roses
Never mind the bullocks - Sex Pistols
Look Sharp - Joe Jackson
Outlandos d'Amour - The Police
Achtung Baby - U2
Smash - The Offspring
Debut album from Rage Against The machine (burning monk on the cover, can't miss it)
Rappers Delight - Sugar Hill Gang
Thriller - Michael Jackson
